Unless he can play CB or safety we don't need him. Face it if Woody was that good we would not have cut him nor would have atlanta. The guy is a jack of all trades but is the master of none.

Question is, are we in any better position to fit him on the roster? I don't remember what position he's been playing for ATL. If we trade Lee, could he step in and be the #3 tailback and kick returner? Is he a corner? I think Parcells' wants him back.

This was in Sunday's AJC...its pure speculation on the writers behalf...he has no idea why the scouts were there
in our case it could have been advance scouts for the Bengals, since they are on the schedule this yr
we cut Dantzler last yr because he couldnt do anything other than return kickoffs...he cant play DB and he isnt a WR or RB...we wont be bringing him back

I'm sure their homer fans think he's worth a 4th just like our homer fans think Lee is.
Lee for Dantzler straight-up !
Oh, wait. Then we have another 4th string RB who is a good KR guy but can't give us more than 5 plays.
What do we do with Dantzler when we have to cut to 53?

Dantzler did a fine job returning kicks but he also had problems of dropping the kicks, he is not good enough to be a real option at RB and can't cover so he is not going to play secondary. Good college QB but not at this level. I like Woody but he just does not have what it takes to make it in this league but he has shown enough to have given himself some oppertunities and now I think the oppertunities are about to run out.

Why...we would only use it for a return guy anyway. And that is what he does...so fair trade. :D

Your tune will change on Lee before the end of next season.

What am I wrong on Lee about? He's worth a 4th? He's higher on the depth chart than #4?
I was a big fan of his last year before George and JJ we're added. They will split the carries with RA as the 3rd down back. What is Lee going to do besides return kicks?

I believe that there is a very good chance that he will get more snaps than George this year if he is not traded.
George will not be on the team next year.
Ritchie Anderson turns 33 in 2 weeks.
Lee will be in front of those guys next year if he is not in front of them this year.

So at 32 RA had 70 catches last year. Will Lee have 70 in his entire career?
EG has 128 straight starts and over 10k yard in his NFL career.
Lee doesn't have 128 starts in all levels combined going back to Pop Warner. Hasn't totaled 10k yards in all levels combined either.
And I am not joking with those figures.
Guy was a back-up RB at Middle Tennessee State behind Dwone Hicks. Both went undrafted. Where is Dwone Hicks now you ask.

Why trade for Dantzler? If the Cowboys need a kick returner that bad...all that they have to do is sign recently cut Jermaine Lewis or the other guy (forgot his name) who Parcells signed last year who did pretty well.

Lee appears to be headed as a viable backup to JJ. What has he done to not be able to do that? Conversely he has continued to look good when given the chance.
Why would Parcells not look at this guy as a very possible longer term solution to the backup, change of pace, and short yardage back than EG or Anderson?
Does Bill trust this guy to do that right now? No. But if Lee does earn that trust by doing basically what Anderson and EG do then the Cowboys will be better off by far. I suspect Lee can be that guy. All he has to do is what he has been doing. For awhile.
If he can be that guy then he is worth more than a second day pick by far. You would have to get lucky with a second day pick to replace this guy IF he is good enough to be a viable backup to JJ.
I respect EG and what he has accomplished. However that goes only so far in a NFL where cap management is arguably the most important thing a team can do to get and stay in contention for SBs. Right now I trust EG to do what I know he can do and I don't trust Lee. Yet.
Lee appears to be worth whatever draft pick you need to get a backup RB that can still get you into the playoffs.
