....this game's for you.
Who knows what the future holds, could get worse, could get better. But there is one thing for sure, that did not look like a QB that has been strictly holding a clipboard for 3 years. That did not look like a QB that just sported a visor and played golf, or wasn't being brought along, albeit a different way.
Nope, you just don't walk onto a football field and play QB in the NFL without proper training, without patience, without attention to details. You don't play QB in the NFL the Jerry Jones scattershot way.
Romo played this way tonight because of the way he was coached, and not in spite of it.
For those who didn't see it all along, for those who lacked the patience, for those who didn't have at least an inkling something could be happening in a different way, well, sucks to be you I guess. Perhaps you can come out of that self inflicted agony and relish that, omg, Parcells did this the right way.
And for those that believed, reap your reward, your hopes paid off tonight, and if you're waiting for the rest to man up and admit they were wrong all along, don't waste your time....they're just not worth it, let them wallow in their hate and despair.

I've always believed in Romo and no level of disbelief will faze me. Romo is the future and the future of the franchise has just began to take hold. This is only the beginning. I stand by 6-3 coming home from this road trip. This was the pivotal game and we went out and played like I know we can. My hat's off to everyone else that believed as well. It's time to put some heavy duty wheels on the Romo wagon. It's going to get shoulder to shoulder on here. ;)

(don't worry big fella, I'm sure BP will cut a 4th string TE sometime soon to give ya something to whine on)
And there's not a thing convenient about it, I, along with others, stood strong behind this belief for a couple of years now.

What??? A positive post from Mr. Bair?
I think the Cowboys caught Carolina napping; the Panthers thought the Boys had rolled over and died.
The Boys are still making too many mistakes; too many penalties and the Panthers dropped a couple interception opportunities and way too many passes.
You guys are wanting to induct Romo into the HOF after one game??? Idiots!
There! I said it for you Mr. Bair.
Let's see what they do the next three games! Then we'll know what they are this year.

you funny round eye. the anger you let live inside you comes out in times like this, doesn't it? hey, i'm wrong a lot and people have seen me admit it time and again. you ever give it a shot or are you always right, yet you deflect that attitude to me cause you don't care for my "politics"?
are you now claiming to be a prophit and you think *any* qb brought up this way will work? this is the ONLY way to make a qb work? again, it's so wonderful you allow yourself all the speculation in the world yet, none for anyone else. do you think all else are blind to how you post and your "anger" towards me, jack?
only an idiot would keep coming after 1 person so angry all the time and think no one else can see their "agenda".
i could well be wrong and parcells could well have been right. yay team and hopefully he *was* right and hopefully we do now have a qb of the future. while i'm optimistic, i'm also not ready to give him the keys for the next 10 years but i sure hope we get the rest of this year to see how well he does in games.
then again, wasn't i the one who said it was idiotic to get a qb like bledsoe and NOT build a great line to put around him?
i was a fool 18 months ago for thinking that and now wow - bledsoe, mr on his way to the hall of fame - was benched because we didn't have a line to protect him.
seems there are times i'm right also, jack. care to admit that or would that hurt your "god i hate iceberg" parade you've always got going on, making you look like an obsessed fool?
i don't know why it means so much to you that i must be wrong with every breathe i take, jack. all i can think is that like i said, you're one angry dude and being "right" seems to mean more than cheering for the same team with people you may or may not care for individually.
you can keep the crow, jack, cause like i've said - we'll just never know if romo could have started last year, will we?
well you will because that's the way jack wants it.
sorry, i don't let speculation only happen to ONE side of an argument.
in the meantime, here's to hoping romo can keep this up and hopefully we have finally left the qb carosel behind us and we can focus on other areas.
like the OL that i was so wrong about also, right? like why i was mad about polite being cut - NOT because of him but because we brought in ANOTHER FREAKING LB - you seem to leave off my real reasons for things so you can make crap up - i'd ask why but to be honest, i don't care. it's just your hate coming apart at the seems.
keep the hate alive, jack. it fits you. : )

I'll always believe that if your still in the running you have a chance. I do think too many give up too quickly after a loss. The NFL is a long season and a lot of things are going to happen between now and the end of the season. Some teams who look unbeatable now will look very beatable down the line and others who started off struggling well some will get it turned around and be in the thick of it at the end. I say this because it happens every year.

It can't get worse then Drew and the better news is Romo is guy with a true QB mind... smart, leader, calm, accurate. he'll take some lumps but it hasn't felt this good as a cowboy fan since '95 to be honest. even that last superbowl was bittersweet as we all knew the dynasty was crumbling and drew-like INTs handed us the lombardi vs pitt.

I want to count all the Talking Heads who totally slammed us all week:
Eddie George on FSN Pro Football Weekly said Bill Parcells act was getting old. Said Dalls was a mediocre team. Hhhm, I wonder why he would say that.
NFL Sunday Countdown: They all picked against us (except the Playmaker, of course ... I can't wait for him to tell them all about it).
Sporting News: Said we would get blown out.
NFL Total Access - Rich Eisen & Marshall Faulk ... I guess those little smirks, sniggling and giggling can hold off for another week.

Nope. I didn't say that. In fact, I said it could....but to me....it just didn't matter one way or another, and it was no big deal. Yep, that's what I said alright, that is until your revisionism set in. Status quo for you.

I have the entire thing if you'd like to revisit it. Or not, cuz I know it's easier for you to live in that fantasy land.
Did I claim to be a prophet? Nope, your words again. What did I do? It's all documented, I've said all along and there's no denying it. I've said the people who need to see him are. I've said he's been being brought along slowly, out of our radar, out from under the nose of all those 'must see for myself people'. I've said it for a couple years now. Are you denying I've held this position? Are you denying that I've said he'll play when the time was right, or BP felt he was ready?
Are you denying that your position was BP was not developing a QB? Are you denying you've said you HAD to see it for yourself? That he HAD to play to get the game speed conditions?
Yet you claim I believe there is only one sure fire way to develop a QB. Unreal as your claim, especially in these recent posts where I've clearly stated that this way was 'different'. Denying that's there? Such a lost soul.
Notice your bringing on the hate mantra again(funny from someone who's byline has 'hate' in it). Boy was that ever predictable: Paragraph 5 - http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1104804&postcount=198
Now, back to your deep underworld funk you love to bask in, where all things suck. Sorry Romo didn't suck for you last night. We all know you were ready to pounce and rant and rave like you did in here the first half of the Texans game. Must be so disappointing no to have anything to whine about today, but like I said, keep your head up, I'm sure a 4th stringer will be released soon and you can whine about that for 10 pages.

why do you not care about those little facts, jack? why do you push aside what i directly say you can put some "twist" around it?

look you idiotic schumck - i've made SEVERAL positive posts about enjoying the cowboys quite a bit more NOW than when bledsoe was our QB. why do you miss all those? why do you feel i'm over here hating for no good reason in the world? why do you feel the need to "thump" anyone?
as for the 4th stringer being cut - fine. then who were you referring to because that is the ONLY player i've been talking about who's been cut lately and it was because parcells *WANTED* another LB.
you dodge and weave with the best of 'em jack and i'm guilty of letting you get away with vague terminology so you can wrap yourself up in your own giggles - fine. you wanted it this way -
which "10 page post" (these *are* your words, are they not?) was i a part of about a 4th string player getting cut.
ignore the rest jack and just anwer this question. if it's polite you're going to look as stupid as you do because you're "dancing w/o reason". if not polite then i was wrong.
but the player damn well better be 4th string and i damn well better have posted 10 pages of info in here or your litteral arse just got "blown up, sir!"
your move - back up what you said as literal as you're now playing with the words.
SHOW ME a 10 page post where i whined about a 4th stringer getting cut.
can't be done - can it? where's your truth now, jackieboy?

right...
romo is ready for canton
you'll have to forgive jack. he hates me because i wanted to see romo 2+ years ago in a 3 game stretch where we were out of the playoff race. he basically said you can't tell a thing from those 3 games.
now he has 1 game and he can tell you the world about romo, how he was "coached" into greatness and how this was the RIGHT way to bring in a qb.
in the meantime, i never said it wasn't the *right* (ie, only way) i DID say and maintain that it's not the ONLY way to get it done.
now he's acting like i want romo to fail so i can be right. anyone see me post ANYTHING negative about romo? quite the contrary, i've been shocking people because of my optimism lately and somehow, jackieboy misses all that and only sees what he wants to. even then he'll twist it up to what he wants it to be.
i hope romo comes along and plays lights out for the rest of his career. nothing i have ever said would contradict that but if you listen to jack, i want romo to fail.
some people just need "agenda drive " tattoo'd to their forehead. but in his case, it's just understood.
from jackieboy:
And for those that believed, reap your reward, your hopes paid off tonight, and if you're waiting for the rest to man up and admit they were wrong all along, don't waste your time....they're just not worth it, let them wallow in their hate and despair.
again, 3 games won't tell me a thing, but he dramaqueens out the very FIRST game he can.
as for admitting i was wrong, or could have been - see several posts in this thread alone that says i'm wrong a lot - it's what fans do. however, the jury is out on this one and unfortunately it's jack-wipes like dogboy here who make it hard to root for a player cause they're suck d-heads about everything around simply rooting for a team.
and while you think i want romo to fail so i can be happy - please refer to my post from after the giants game when he came in at 1/2 time.

you're wrong about me, jack. but that's ok. i just wish you'd get over whatever the hell is up your * and move on with life.

There you go respecting the board again.
as for the 4th stringer being cut - fine. then who were you referring to because that is the ONLY player i've been talking about who's been cut lately and it was because parcells *WANTED* another LB.
But you said I lied about a 4th string FB. Now, is that in itself a lie, a misleading quote to serve your purpose?
which "10 page post" (these *are* your words, are they not?) was i a part of about a 4th string player getting cut.
See, this is where your frustrations boil over so bad, comprehension becomes an impossibility. Let's read it together, shall we? Here we go, slowly now- "I'm sure a 4th stringer will be released soon and you can whine about that for 10 pages."
Doesn't say you did. Says I'm sure one will, and you can whine. A prediction.
but the player damn well better be 4th string and i damn well better have posted 10 pages of info in here or your litteral arse just got "blown up, sir!"
:laugh2: Quit it.....please.....quit.....:laugh1: you're gonna make me pee myself.

thanks, mr. innocent.
But you said I lied about a 4th string FB. Now, is that in itself a lie, a misleading quote to serve your purpose?
no, it's me actually being stupid enough to try and give you the benefit of the doubt to want to figure out just what the HELL the problem is between you and i. oops. i did it again.
See, this is where your frustrations boil over so bad, comprehension becomes an impossibility. Let's read it together, shall we? Here we go, slowly now- "I'm sure a 4th stringer will be released soon and you can whine about that for 10 pages."
so it's better just to make crap up about people and SAY they're going to do this you have NO BASIS of to say in the firstplace? to what of my past do you use to reference the above statement? you never answer a single question, just state how you're misunderstood. nice tactic, but um...old now.
:laugh2: Quit it.....please.....quit.....:laugh1: you're gonna make me pee myself.
'eh, it's a goal.

Good to see you have a playmate now. Like they say, misery loves company. But...I basically said no such thing. I basically said you probably could, but it wasn't important to me either way, certainly not important enough to make it part of a whining agenda for years to come.
now he has 1 game and he can tell you the world about romo, how he was "coached" into greatness and how this was the RIGHT way to bring in a qb.
Boy, fishing is good today! First line in my post...."Who knows what the future holds, could get worse, could get better."
now he's acting like i want romo to fail so i can be right.
This coming from a guy who stated he wouldn't be happy this year even if the Cowboys won the Super Bowl.
some people just need "agenda drive " tattoo'd to their forehead. but in his case, it's just understood.
Dang, it just must be killing you not to be able to drop the f bomb. Surely there's a way to circumvent that isn't there? I mean, absent of name calling and cursing, you couldn't make a substantiated point to save your whiny rear end.
again, 3 games won't tell me a thing, but he dramaqueens out the very FIRST game he can.
Yes, you have a twisted plan to repeat the untruths. Stay the course my brother, stay the course. Fair and balanced right?
however, the jury is out on this one
Isn't that what this means? "Who knows what the future holds, could get worse, could get better."
and unfortunately it's jack-wipes like dogboy here who make it hard to root for a player cause they're suck d-heads about everything around simply rooting for a team.
The respect reeks! How could this board survive without such respect. :lmao:

just 1 point to illustrate how you take things way out of context due to your hate for me. : )
jackieboy:
This coming from a guy who stated he wouldn't be happy this year even if the Cowboys won the Super Bowl.
me again:
yep. i said it. it would also be in reference to w/bp at the helm w/aged vets all around. had nothing to do with bp possibly wisening up and putting his security blankets down and starting young.
of which i've said i've wanted to do all along.
so you see - YOU'RE pretty durned guilty of revisionist history yourself. if you can't see it, your choice. in any event, i'm going to free myself from the stupidity that is you now.
have a nice day.

hmmm... I would go that far but I will say Romo is the future of this franchise. Eventually the wheels of the Romo Lovewagon will fall off once the last few stragglers hop on. The level of pessimism, despite a valiant effort by a team led by Romo, amazes me. The team is rallying around a QB with a new attitude. Perhaps one day soon the last few stragglers on this board will do the same. It's infectious. You can't shake it. The days of dreading the known are long gone. hoorah!... The unknown is making himself comfy.
