Watching countdown.
Mort was talking about Butch Davis and said he has not decided to head to back to coaching College yet.
He went on to say that he was interested in maybe trying to be HC for cowboys but he has had indications that cowboys are indeed insterested in Jeff Fisher as the coach to follow the Tuna after he leaves.
Said this is the last year in Fishers contract however there is some sort of option that Bud Adams could use to hold fisher one more season.

Wouldn't this be considered tampering?

I would not even consider it...except this rumor has been going around from different sources the last couple of weeks.
Does not mean that it will happen but it is just not mort.

No. Being on a team's radar, doesn't mean they've attempted to contact him or his agent.

What's Fisher running at Tenn? The 4-3? Does that mean that Zimmer will be retained if he becomes our next HC? Although I would be happy w/ Fisher, at this point I would prefer Cowher if it means his arrival would be the end of the Zimmer era.

I would like to see a some sort of 3-4/46 defense blend. More pressure schemes with Fisher would be fun to watch.

I'm hoping Big Bill comes back, but if he rides off into the Saratogo sunset, I'd take Coach Fischer for sure.

I think Parcells returns but if not I would have no problem with Fischer.
Given the resourses Fischer can put a fine team together. I also like his defensive philosophy.

Can I ask? Why all this praise for Fisher? He has never won anything?
This is a serious inquiry

The Titans haven't been able to manage their cap, and they're paying for it. Even so, Fisher is still one of the winningest active coaches. As bad as their record has been the last couple of years, a lot of teams are interested in Fisher if Bud Adams loses his patience.
Just watching all the coaches deal with the media on NFLN, Fisher has always come across to me as one of the most intelligent.
I don't think he's going anywhere though.
