View Full Version : Looks like we have found our QB

We need to work on that. He is going to be a star. I do not want him to leave in free agency next offseason so we dont even need to let him think about going elsewhere. Jerry said we might draft a QB to fix our problem there, but we dont need to now. All we need is a backup. Do you think that we will get him resigned and he will play here for a long time?
Also, Jerry wouldnt say whether or not there was an option past the 07 season, does that mean that his extention might be through 08? :starspin

I'm not sure how soon but that needs to be a priority.. PERIOD. Get this done so we can move on to fixing other problems.

....too bad I can't even feel good about it. Losing sucks and I'm just a fan. I can't imagine what it does to Parcells and the players.
Tell ya what, Romo is a player.
I am very excited about this. I'm hoping this will be the silver lining that can carry me through a highly, highly.....HIGHLY...disappointing season.

This is the silver lining about this game.
It looks like Romo is going to be the real deal. If you're good at QB you have a shot at making the playoffs every year.

Yep we have our QB of the present and future, now we just need to get rid of Parcells and the so called "Parcells guys" BOTH OF YA SUCK!!!!!!!

This is the only thing that is keeping me level headed today.
I'm ecstatic about Romo right now. Looks like a 10 year vet out there.

My guess is that a few more games like this from the rest of the team and he may seriously consider resigning.
My wish is that we start blocking and catching and stop committing stupid penalties so that Tony might want to re-sign with us instead of packing up and going home.

yes I am mad we lost. But for some reason it hurts less knowing the QB is not the problem. Come on guys we do not have a SB team. That is what I was looking for when the season started. Once I saw the real Dallas defense play. I knew that SB was out the question. But with Romo the SB looks alot sooner in coming to Dallas down the road.

I know but if he keeps playing like this and goes into 2007 and plays well, he may opt to test the market. I can see Jerry being stubborn and trying to draft one and tell Romo sianara.

Yeah, he was probably our best player on the field today.
Nice to say that about a FA pickup, when we got so many high first rounders on this team. Or sad to say it, your choice.

Romo was spectaculor today, Marion Barber was great too. I'm tired of the up and down season though!Precisely why I can't feel good about Romo's progress. Going into the games now, I'm not worried about Romo, I worried about the defense getting off the field on 3rd down.

Romo was a stud. He would've had around 350 yards passing and 3 TD's with no interceptions, had it not been for TO dropping the easy TD pass.

I agree. Very impressive game by Romo today. Add the perfect pass to TO that was dropped and he's over 300 yds passing and near 70% completion percentage with 3 TD's. Not to mention how cool and collected he is under pressure.

One thing to look forward too at least...I like his ability to make things happen when there's nothing there. Gives you hope that on any play--anything can happen

I believe we have found the future of the franchise at QB folks. this guy makes great decisions. It's so difficult to say woulda coulda shoulda but the bottom line is simple.
Had TO caught that perfectly thrown bomb tossed into his bread basket when he led the double coverage this game probably would have definitely seen a different outcome. Had the defense gotten consistent pressure on Brunell to hide our lack of teamwork in the secondary the outcome would have most likely been different. Had the team as a whole not committed 150 plus yards in penalties we would most likely not be sitting here with painful hearts. Romo did everything he possibly could to put us in position to win the game despite all of this.
I now see why the Tuna halted practice early on Friday.
With all of this having been said, I still like coming away today knowing our search for a quarterback has finally ended. Couple this with Marion Barber's play to create a bit of a silver lining.

Agreed TO needs to catch that ball. He blew it. He needs to get it together. Perhaps as they get more in sync TO will catch those. I hope. THAT was the game. He was brought here for the big play and he has cost us TWO big plays. 4th & 2 and then today.

We got the QB now. We have the RB's. We have the TE's. We for now and have some good young prospects for WR. O line we have one spot (Rivera) we need to upgrade for sure. On D we need a meaner bigger nastier NT to cause penetration up the middle. And from somewhere we need to get another pass rusher.

Living in Washington, I'm really not looking foward to work on Mon. But the good thing about this lost is we have a QB, that looked very, very good today. Watching the game I had to keep telling myself that this is only his second start of the year, on the ROAD!. This lost hurts because of how we lost but if we can beat Arizona next week, and come out of this road trip 2-1, we are stilll in good shape. Washington and Philly will cancel each other out next week and the Giants play a Chicago team coming off a bad lost, so this is a painful lost but we are not out of anything by a long shot.

24 for 36, 284 yards, 2 TDs
IF Owens had caught that pass, it could have been 25 for 36, 359 yds, 3 TD's.
Either way, not bad for only his second start.

It's always good to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. You have consistently shown time and time again you have nothing positive to contribute. I'm really surprised you aren't over celebrating with the rest of the skins fans. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if you had two browser windows open. That's your M.O.

It just stinx to high heaven we didn't win this game. Romo played a gorgeous football game. He is special, our fg protect unit is not. He deserved better than this loss.
He is awesome thus far. How we only managed 19pts reflects on Owens' drop and penalties that killed drives. He should have thrown for over 350yds today. He was that good.

:)And had Parcells used a time out earlier, we would've been in postion to make the touch down at the end or maybe a chip shot FG instead of what happened. I guarantee you Romo would've thrown a TD pass had he had more time.

Not with Parcells at the helm. I now believe in Romo & trust him to make good decisions, but you know as well as I do, it would of been JJ left, JJ right, JJ up the middle, then FG attemt. Romo would not of had the oppurtunity to throw it in the endzone.

I know it's only been 2 starts, but there is NOTHING that tells me Romo is not a player. He shows mobility, poise, accuracy, good decision-making ability, a quick release and he proved to be clutch today with that final drive. I am absolutely sick over the game we gave away with penalties (11?! - where's the discipline Bill?!) and drops (thanks TO and Roy). How do you have a 35 yard game winner blocked by seemingly everyone, by the way? But despite being disgusted with this team right now, I can honestly say that I truly feel like we've found our guy. Romo, Jones/Barber, Witten and a developing young defense give me some hope. Still need a good, young pass rusher and and improved OL. I feel like we're so damn close and nobody is dominant in the NFC. We're just letting these opportunities slip away. Oh, I've watched Eli basically every game he's ever played and I think Romo is better. I know about the number of games and "don't jump the gun", but Eli is nothing without Plaxico's jump balls and Tiki turning a dumpoff into a 40 yard gain. Eli is ok but I honestly believe Romo is, and will continue to be, better.
