1) nice win on the road, but I wont get too giddy because the Cards are probably the worst team in football right now
2) Romo, pretty much everything has already been said...he is doing a fantastic job and with each completed pass you wonder what Parcells was thinking by sticking with Bledsoe...he did throw a few wounded ducks yesterday that I didnt see in his other starts, IMO because he was trying to "overthrow" the ball and he will probably learn to quit that...still, a great effort other than that boneheaded play on the GL
3) great pass protection by the OL yesterday...Adams is getting close to pre-injury form now...he made Bert Berry totally disappear...huge test for Adams vs the Colts though with Freeney and Mathis coming here
4) great job by the WR's and TE's...Crayton and Hurd really picked up the slack...even Fasano was open deep and might have had a big play had Witten not deflected a ball (and Fasano was WIDE OPEN behind him)
5) people are really piling on Henry, but he didnt play that bad yesterday...the Boldin play was just an amazing catch on his part, and his tight coverage on the Watkins play was probably at least partly responsible for the INT...he did get beat early on the long one by Fitzgerald (think it was him, whoever it was dropped the ball) but hey, Fitzgerald is a great WR and is going to get open some...bottom line folks is when your pass rush is absolutely non existant (as ours was again yesterday) then QB's and WR's are going to make plays...nobody can cover forever
6) for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, Roy was not credited with a single tackle...Parcells and Zimmer have amazingly negated one of the best play- making SS's in the league...there were plays yesterday where RW was lined up a good 20-25 yds downfield, if not more than that...I've never seen a coordinator that so easily allows other teams to dictate what we do, instead of doing what good coaches do and dictate to other teams...
7) this is nit picking, but I think it was really stupid for Parcells to go for it both times late in the game yesterday, and both times we ran the ball on every down with no passes (particularly stupid IMO was running Barber on 4 straight downs, especially when they were set up for an easy play action pass on 4th and 2)...point differential could come into play with the tiebreakers later, and we gave up at least a FG and perhaps more
8) really thought Parcells clock management at the end of the 1st half was stupid (again)
9) Ellis will be a huge loss...this team was already inept as it was rushing the passer...I cant even imagine how lousy its going to be now
10) Carolina will probably win tonight, meaning we'll have one victory vs a team with a winning record so far this yr...our other wins are vs 3-6 Washington, 2-7 Tennessee, 3-6 Houston and 1-8 Arizona...beating Indy would be a huge step in the right direction, but I havent seen anything from this team to make me think that we'll even stay close, let alone win. It's been pretty much proven that you have to pressure Manning and force him into sacks and bad throws, and we have no ability whatsoever to pressure a QB...with as much time as Manning will have and as soft as we play in the secondary, he will probably have 400+ yds and 4-5 tds (and I'll bet anyone that people will respond by roasting our DB's, rather than placing blame where it really lies, on Zimmer's total inability to create pressure)
David
Nice recap again DB...
Roy playing 20-25 yards off ther ball is to give Manning and company a bad read on next weeks game. With Ellis out for the year, Roy W. will be hunting mannings head next week.
or so I hope.

People are making too big of a deal of BP running it four straight times on Zona's side of the field towards the end of the game. He was simply trying to run out the clock and not run up the score against a coach he respects. He knew that the Boys could have scored at least one TD and one FG, and that there was no way Zona could score three times in the last five minutes. Last time, people were complaining about him running up the score against the Titans. But, in that case he just ran it with Barber who scored. This was a similar situation, except he ran it with Kincade as well and both didn't score. It had absolutely nothing to do with bad play calling in an attempt to score.

What else can we say but GO ROMO!!!
3) great pass protection by the OL yesterday...Adams is getting close to pre-injury form now...he made Bert Berry totally disappear...huge test for Adams vs the Colts though with Freeney and Mathis coming here
Huge key to the game IMO. Adams biggest weakness is the speed rush, so we really need his A Game this week.
4) great job by the WR's and TE's...Crayton and Hurd really picked up the slack...even Fasano was open deep and might have had a big play had Witten not deflected a ball (and Fasano was WIDE OPEN behind him)
Fasano actually became a passing game option with Romo in the game. I still don't understand why we had him and Jason running very similar patterns like that. Too easy to lead to confusion and have Witten go for the ball.
TNew keeps showing up and silencing opposing WR's, while Henry keeps drawing penalties and not making plays in the passing game. He is better than that and he needs to start showing it if we are to improve on defense.
Strange thing is, in both those games, we won pretty easily. They must be doing something right.......
9) Ellis will be a huge loss...this team was already inept as it was rushing the passer...I cant even imagine how lousy its going to be now
The only positive I can see coming from this is we get to whether Carpenter or Burnett can step up there game and show us something. Losing Ellis is going to hurt bad, not only for his play, but he is well liked by the entire team. Good teams find a way to step up when a player goes down.
Any given Sunday. They've had games they could have easily lost to the Titans and Bills, and we are far better than both of those 2 teams. The penalties have to stop though, PRONTO!

I guess if you don't get a sack than you don't have a pass rush or put pressure on the QB.
I admit I watched most of the game on the sopcast program, which was choppy most of the time, but it appeared we were getting pressure on ML a good portion of the game.
Hard to throw an INT, if you get sacked...just something for some to think about.

They are lining him up back there because they are terrified of our Free Safeties.
They are conceding the run defense to not give up the big play.

Other than once again getting too many penalties I felt Dallas did a good job in this game. I was happy with the performance of Romo, Crayton, the running game and yes TO. On defense Dallas was able to create some big turnovers but we still have to do better about not allowing the big play down field.

And yet AZ still only ran 82 yards as a team. Very solid number to me.

AZ averages 63 ypg.
:(
But it was obvious where our concerns rested. We let Edge get what he could.

Edge got 68 yards yesterday and if you were in chat, you'd have thought he was putting up LT numbers. Quite hilarious actually.

Great observations, David.
I do want to underscore how lousy a team Arizona truly is.
Yes, we looked very good on both sides of the ball, but our competition was absolutely horrid.
Let's see if we can string two-in-a-row together. If we can, I'll jump on the bandwagon. However, I get the feeling that the pendulum is going to swing from Nirvana back to Dante's Ninth Circle by this time next week.
Here's hoping that the pendulum slows down a bit .... and that Mr. Romo has a firm grip on the fulcrum.

My Christmas wish long term.......My thought is that when the Cards fire Dennis Green that Fitzgerald will also want to walk. They were family buddies or something, and I would love to have that guy wearing a star on his helmet one day. Love Crayton and Hurd, but not sure if they have a number 1 two years from now when TO and Glen are gone for whatever reason.

who is groz?
A goofy term some of the net nerds came up with which stands for Get Rid of Zimmer.
Not that I am against getting rid of Zimmer...just think the whole GROZ thing is goofy.

I dont agree with the clock mangement, why go for the score and give time for Arz to score. Run the clock out and get at least a FG.
And if we come down to tiebreakers we are what 3rd in the league in scoring, i really dont think socring 30 was gonna make that much of differnce. Espically with Indy next. Parcells did the right thing, run the ball knock of some time, and let the young boys get some work. no one cares that Romo didnt get you another TD, for your FF.
And I agree on henry, people dont seem notice that henry gets a pass almost everytime the team steps back to throw. Not because he's bad, but becase T-New is just that good. henry cant stop every play.
and really, i think its smart for Roy, to be back in coverage, why, he's a big hittter, teams have to look for him and see where he is. If you put him on the LOS, IMO it opens up the middle cause the WR know Roy isnt there. I want Roy in the secondary, let our fron 7 dicate the pressure.
