I saw a comparison chart during the game over the weekend of Vince Young, Matt Lienart, and Bruce Gradkowski. I was wondering why Romo wasn't included. His numbers absolutely smoke the others. Too bad, he'd easily be on the all rookie team already. :(

Yep, it's also why the NFL likes QBs to stay the whole four years in college instead of coming out early. Look at Vince Young. People like what he is doing, but...
Vince Young: 82/175 (46.8%) only 973 yards, 5TDs 8 INTs and a QB rating of 54.7.
That my friend sucks!
sure but those other guys were 1st round picks. top 10. all of them. they played at a very high level in college

As mentioned Romo is not a rookie and I think Dallas did Romo a big favor in allowing him to sit and learn over just throwing him to the wolves.

Agreed... the NFL was against underclassmen coming out from the start...
They are forced to draft kids on potential... when they reach their potential, their contract has run out...

Arizona, Tennessee and Tampa are glad their QBs aren't in their 4th year. If they are still producing in year four as they are now, then they will be terrible QBs.

Or they never reach their potential and the organization is right back to where they started before they drafted the QB.
Sometimes it works: Carson Palmer. Sometimes it doesn't: Joey Harrington.

I don't think either guy was an underclassman.

I'll say this for Young he is trying to adjust and learn the NFL game. Vick they gave up on trying to teach him so they went to a college offensive system that he could have a chance in.

They weren't, only Young was an underclassman. I'm was just saying that you take a chance on any QB's potential. I should have put it in my org. post.

No doubt. It just becomes harder to judge when a player is an underclassman. The NFL fortunately doesn't have to face what the NBA had been doing. It would be very difficult to judge if a high school senior had the potential to make it in the NFL. Drafting and projecting is already a tough job and it is more difficult when players come out early.

And your only looking at the other side. :laugh2: Reality I do look at both sides. I recognize the great talent he has but the other side I don't care for.
