I'd say we're sitting on a pretty good little team here, guys. Don't let the naysayers get you down. Even though the W/L isn't what any of us would really like it to be, this game will be close.

My God. You look at those numbers and then our record and just want to cry.
Add the Penalty yards/rank to that. I wanna see how it compares.:(

Those stats are good and well more than decent. We need to avoid penalties, and well have lady luck on our side. Our record would be much much better. At least up by 2 games.
I am very much looking forward to this sundays game! It will be a very entertaining game for sure!

Penalties, Bledsoe and poor free safety play explain the 4 losses. Shame really.......

Maybe not penalties, not sure, but penalty yards, we have to be #1 or 2 for sure.

Statistcally, 3rd down %, Red Zone, Yardage, Points, we are a great team.
But we're 5-4. Til we fix the idiocy, we'll remain 8-8, 9-7 ish. We get it together, we can be real dangerous come January....if we get there.

Just think if we'd blocked for ONE routine field goal. We'd have won twice as many as we've lost, and be at 6-3.
Oh well... Maybe we can make it up this weekend.

And just think... these numbers are with Romo bringing them up from Bledsoe had us.... do you have these numbers from Romo starts to the present... probably even higher... if not yet they will be by seasons end.

Maybe not penalties, not sure, but penalty yards, we have to be #1 or 2 for sure.We rank first in penalty yards. The Cowboys are in the worst division for penalties. NFL Rankings for penalty yards: #1 - Dallas, #2 - Washington, #3 - Philadelphia, #5 - N.Y. Giants. :banghead:

The Colts' #2 ranking in pass defense is greatly skewed by the fact that teams don't try to pass on them, opting instead to run against their 32nd ranked rush D.
Here are two reasons one team is 5-4, and the other is 9-0:
Turnover Margin vs. Winning Teams
Cowboys -5
Colts +10
League Ranking Most Penalties
Cowboys 1st
Colts 26th

Nice stats but you left out 2 critical ones turnovers and penalties both have killed this team in their losses.

DALLAS is +4 in turnover margin not -5. 19 take aways (10 ints 9 fumble recoveries) and 15 turnovers (12 ints 3 fumbles). Of coarse most of the turnovers came in the losses. Most of the giveaways are on Bledsoe, so hopefully that wont be a repeating pattern this week.

People keep saying this, but it's not true to say that teams do not throw against them. The Colts have faced 237 passing attempts. Thats an avg of 26 a game. The Cowboys have faced 284 for an avg of 31 a game. There is only a 5 attempt avg difference. It's not like they are only facing 12-15 passing attempts a game. They are defending 55% rushing and 45% passing. That is a 10% difference, but it's not overwhelming. It's almost the exact opposite of what Dallas faces. Dallas defends 56% (avg 31 attempts) passing and 44% (avg 24 attempts) rushing. Maybe this is why Dallas is #4 against the rush...

Gotcha! Pretty much tells the whole story of the season doesnt it. Maybe next time I should read all the info and not just the highlighted stats. Guess Im -1 in the turnover department today.

It's an exaggeration, I'll admit.
Teams do throw against the Colts, they just have fewer pass attempts against them than any other team, with opposing QB's compiling a rating of 81.0 (http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=999&Category=2) as opposed to the Cowboys' defensive rating of 70.0

Despite a win or a loss, this game will be fun and entertainng to watch. I will focus my opinions on Romo and see how well he does, and how he deals witha bigger team.
It is very likely that the Colts will score on us and fast, this means ROMO will have to be comming from behind. He will be against Peyton, and Romo needs to be himself and not try to match or equal what Manning does.
I see this game muore of a test for Romosapien than the game itself. A win will definatley be awesome, just i see more to it.

I suspect the Cowboys will test their passing defense come Sunday. While I don't expect Romo to drop 350 yards, I expect it to end up somewhere around his avg of 270.

That was a good point though, about Bledsoe being responsible for most of our turnovers. He's credited with 9 of the team's 15. And four of the other six were Romo in his first 3 quarters of work.
This current version of the Cowboys does not turn the ball over, which I think gives a good chance against Indy. Then again, those winning teams Indy has a +10 advantage over don't normally turn it over either. They're all on the plus side for the season.
Again, strange, strange statistic that might have some more to do with the mental playing field than with the physical. Teams think they have to score, score, score to keep up with the Colts so they take more risks and it results in a turnover. I hope we have cooler heads than they did.
