If Drew Brees doesn't workout in N.O. or if he gets injured or decides to switch teams if any of those things happened around the same time that Romo's contract is up do you think Romo will switch teams to go play for his fellow alumnus.

why would he leave the DALLAS COWBOYS to play for the new orleans saiints? That's NFL Royalty compared to poop. Jerry Jones vs Tom Benson. As long as he's good, Romo never has to worry about having good players around him.

Jerry will lock him down before he can become a FA.

If Romo keeps playing like he has been, his contract will never be up.

Would you leave a top flight franchise for the Saints? The chance to QB the Dallas freakin Cowboys? No way.

Plus, Drew Brees has stated countless times that he was meant to play for New Orleans. The Saints and Brees are financially bound to a sizeable contract.

Romo will have nice contract in place before Jerry even thinks about letting Tony go.

I could see that if for some reason he really wanted to play for someone else it could be the Packers since he grew up in that state and kinda idolized Favre anyway.

Course normally the last thing you ever wanna do is follow a legend but if any Packer fans have been paying attention lately they must be thinking they could do alot worse than get someone like him to take over.

Well at least until he starts playing a lil differently in their uniform because the players on their team as a whole arent as good. ;)

Simply put, Jerry will lock him up for many years to come before Sean Payton can get at him. We all know Sean Patyon coveted this guy. I'm sure Jerry does as well. That's why he will lock Romo up before any sniff of the FA market takes place.

He is more likely to wear g-string and a little crown on his head and join the *****cat dolls.

Really? Jery has been known to play a little hardball with stars before and if Jerry get into contract negotiations trying to bring up the fact that the Cowboys gave him his big break then Romo could get to thinking ACTUALLY it was PEYTON who gave me my big break the head coach of the N.O. Saints kind of akin to the ending of Any Given Sunday and Steaming Willie Beaman

Huh? The only hardball with stars that JJ played with was Emmitt Smith and that was over a decade ago. He learned his lesson. If ever there was a nonjustified complaint about JJ, it was refusing to pay someone what he's worth.

After enduring years of the QB carousel with such esteemed names as Hutchinson, Leaf(BLECH), Wright, Stoener, Carter, Henson, Tony Banks(BLECH), Testaverde, Bledsoe.. etc etc etc I seriously doubt Jerry would screw this one up.

The only thing better than being a good Quarterback is being a good Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

If he left Dallas for any reason it would be the worst business decision he ever made.

More than wishing now.........we had traded A(dui)Bryant straight up for Larry Johnson as per a rumo back then.....................

sit and daydream a little on about adding him to this offensive mix right now,
but heck he probably wouldve kept Bledsoe on the field is all..........thats cold water on the face

I think Romo has shown in a very short time that he is dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys.... simply because he seems like that type of guy and.... they dedicated themselves to developing him..... again like Brady, he said just sign me to a good fair deal and I am a Patriot for life.... I see Romo doing same

Not so fast my friend. It is known that before signing Brees, Peyton tried to trade for Romo. It should also be noted that Peyton worked closely with Romo over the last few years. Its not like its totally out of the blue. I'm not saying it should or will happen but it is a possibility I'd hate to see it as much as you would but its not out of the question

Save this thread/post. IF Romo is ever traded to the Saints EVER... I will buy you the Saints Romo Jersey. The REAL Jersey.

Deal?

Thats how confident I am.

Romo will never play on another team until he is old, decrepid, and half blind. Jerry will sell the farm to keep Romo-rolling with the Boys!

Actually, the contract Brees signed is something the Saints could get out of if they wished. It's not a cap killer.

There ya go. How'd that trade work out? Bill knows what he's got. High Octane Romohol will go now where as long as any Jones walks the face of this earth. A very nice earth as of late, BTW.:)

The more likely scenario is that Romo starts playing for Payton because Payton becomes the head coach of the Cowboys down the line.

Not only will Jerry not screw this up, but Romo seems like a pretty classy guy. The Cowboys brought him in undrafted, developed him and are now giving him the starter position. I think that his loyalty will lay with them and unless the p.t.b. lose their minds he will probably retire a Cowboy.

Betting on loyalty in professional sports is kind of like betting on a lion not to eat a stake that you toss near its mouth. Sometimes it might not eat it, but most of the time its gonna happen. Professional athletes go where they get the most money the vast majority of the time. If we were to not sign Romo and he hits the FA market and someoen tops us, I would expect him to go to that team.

No, I dont think Tony Romo would do that unless his contract offer is ridiculously low.

Like I said, if the p.t.b. don't screw it up I see Romo retiring a Cowboy. Not signing Romo before he becomes a FA would be a major screw up on thier part. I am not saying that loyalty will be the only thing holding him here,(I am not that niave) just that it will factor into his decision, based on the type of person he has come across as to me.

Yeah, before the season, I heard his contract could basically end up as a 1-yr deal (just in case his shoulder fell apart). But there is a chance that certain clauses in his contract were already met.
