Sorry for a rather redundant thread topic, but does anyone know if the Cowboys/Giants game that was moved from noon to 3 pm CST is a nationally televised game for those of us who live in western PA?

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

they had a thing on during the Indy game (I believe it was during Indy) showing what games are the flkex games for the next three weeks and I assume flex means so that they go on a national scale on tv... Dallas/NY games was next week's flex game

so I would say yes... but there was a small patch of people who could not see the indy game, so a little more investigation won't hurt

I would think the Fox Game Day crew would want to sign on for this one.

Thanks for the reply RW Hitman. Maybe a map of the United States and it's viewers of the game will be provided.

Isn't the Tampa Bay vs. Pittsburgh game on at the same time?

If so, I don't think western PA will be showing the Giants/Cowboys over that game.

But, I may be wrong. Call or email your local station and they can tell you.

Depends who is carrying the Steelers game, we can only hope it is CBS instead of Fox as CBS normally carries the AFC Games (yes I know Tampa is in the NFC).

However if they are playing the Steelers game on Fox than chances he, and probably myself included, will get the Steelers game.

I am Hoping that the Giants/Cowboys game will carry enough pull to overcome that if the steelers will be on fox. It has more implications so that is what I am hoping.

Argghh...checked on ESPN and seen that Fox indeed is the one covering the Tampa/Steelers game instead of CBS.

Please FOX...PLEASE FOX play the Cowboys game instead of the steelers game for us who are normally stuck with the steelers.

Dang it! Who wants to see a 4-6 Steelers and 2-8 Bucs team beat each other up? Check that... it could be a 4-7 Steelers team after this weekend and a 2-9 Bucs team playing on Fox. Pointless!

The game of the week is the Cowboys and Giants game. C'mon Fox!!!

You guys do know we are getting screwed on the Atlanta game unless we have Direct TV dont you?

If you don't have the NFL Network not even local people get to watch their team play.

If the Steelers play in Tampa it will be on CBS. The visiting team determines who will broadcast the game.

Tampa is playing at Pittsburgh, so Fox will carry that game. The visiting team determines who broadcasts it. If AFC team is visiting, then CBS carries the game, if the NFC team is visiting, then Fox carries it.

TunaHelper hit the nail on the head, the visitting team in interconference games determines which channel broadcasts it. Since Tampa is at Pittsburgh, it will be on Fox.

Yes, but I thought the NFL had agreed with local broadcasters that they will show the game, just not on NFL network. I thought the local markets would get it on another channel.

I know I pay a hefty price (and a premium) for my DirecTV packages, but thank goodness that I'm not at the mercy of the greed of the cable companies and the NFL. DirecTV had no problem in picking up NFL network, and passing the costs down to those that want it (DTV does have packages that do not have NFL network).

Cable companies need to pony up and do the same. They should give customers more options. For example, let customers switch out CSPAN, Home Shopping Network, Christian TV, etc., for the NFL Network if they so choose.

The cable companies have always been force feeding useless channels down to the consumer, yet they balk at the idea of forcing one down that the consumer actually WANTS.

The nfl has already said that the teams playing on the nflnetwork will still be shown on broadcast tv in the local markets. Just like when espn shows their games.

Wonder why they chose the visiting team instead of the home team to determine that. It has been like that for a long time.

I know for a fact this is true because the Chefs game was on a local channel last Thursday.
