Mickey:
Things have changed so dramatically in this conference this year. There seems to be a "Cowboys Curse". The NYFGwere 4-2 when they beat Dallas, they are 2-3 since. The Eagles were 5-1 and have lost 5 of the last 6.
The weird thing about this weekend is that 8 teams that had the same or better record than Dallas, 6 of them lost and Seattle plays tonight. They all lost except NO. How could it have worked out any better for Dallas. The Bears have a two game lead and their QB is falling apart. It is there for the taking by a team that gets hot. Granted, Chicago does have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way.
The NYFG have a better conference record than Dallas, so they need to go out and beat them this week. They hold all of the tiebreakers against Dallas.
One thing you you can say about Dallas is that they are scoring points. They have 309 which is first in the NFC and second in the NFL. If you score points in this league then you can win alot of games.
I don't know about the NYFG injury situation. Obviously Toomer and Arrington won't be back nor will Pettigout.
Maybe worse than their injury problems is the fact that they are all sniping at each other. Yes, Manning threw the interception, but Coughlin threw him right under the bus. Were there no other mistakes? They looked bad on defense, other players made mistakes. I don't know if Coughlin is going into protection mode so he doesn't take the blame for what's happening up there.
Another thing that helps Dallas is that there has been some pretty good character on this team. Owens was a little iffy early this year and complained a bit, but the rest have stayed together and supported each other. It looks like they may have weathered the TO storm. They all seem to get along well.
