What a jerk.

This guy was just on Cold Pizza talking about how horrid Romo's mechanics were, and how according to his knowledge it will eventually catch up to his current sucess.

Listening to the way he was judging Romo, you could defientely tell he does'nt like the way Romo enjoys the game, mentioning about how he smiles his way back to the huddle as if theirs nothing wrong

Sounds like a hater.

I love all the talking heads and their "expert" opinions. Who the heck cares how Romo throws the ball if it makes it on time and in the right place? I seem to recall Elway had less than perfect mechanics but I never heard Skip mouthing off about him. Results count, not opinions.

Go Cowboys!

That's pretty much the story of Bayless, he hears a Cowboys named and he finds something to complain about.

We're better off to mute the TV whenever he opens his mouth

If Bill Parcells were so appalled by Romi's mechanics he would not have lasted on the roster for four seasons and he would not be starting at present, Henson had poor mechanics not Romo.

What threads do we get more of?

I can't believe what Skip Bayless just said!

Look what the silly skins fans at ES said!

Let's get racist!

or

Start (insert backup here) because I am more in tune with the team's needs than Bill Parcells!

Don't watch freaking Cold Pizza. It's not even an interesting show. You watching the show means Bayless gets more money - and anyone who knows what he means in relation to the Dallas Cowboys should find that notion despicable. Sack up - don't watch the show.

I think they are fine, maybe he thinks they are bad because he throws on the run alot? i dunno:confused:

I will commend BP for not being a like Gibbs and calling out idiots like Bayless when their "predictions" don't come to fruition.

What week was the TO-Parcells relationship sure to fall apart - with one of them leaving? Does Jerry still hate Parcells - or did that ever happen?

What do you guys think of his mechanics?

I think they are fine, maybe he thinks they are bad because he throws on the run alot? i dunno:confused:He is no worse than Elway or Favre or Young or Brees in the mobile mechanics department. All of them made plays that would defy convention. In the pocket he has poise, he tends to throw the ball where only his man can get it on the outside. He's not like Aikman or even Bledsoe in the sense that he threads it into amazingly tight spots but maybe that will come.

Regarding mechanics and accuracy.

I remember Craig Morton during the 1970 season eventually developed arm problems due to poor mechanics. He was reasonable accurate until his arms become too sore to throw a decent deep ball. Really hurt Dallas in Super Bowl V.

Was this Bayless's concern????

Thanks

Romo's mechanics are good enough to win. The only problem I see is that he throws the ball a bit too high at times. Coach Palmer, along with some encouraging comments for thw WRs after they get hit, will make sure that he works on this.

There's little wrong with his mechanics. Bayless knows virtually nothing about QB mechanics.

Ideally most people would prefer the classic overhand style motion that guys like Montana, Unitas, and Peyton have. But I can name tons of very successful QB's that have similar throwing motions and release points as Romo's. Phillip Rivers and David Carr actually have lower release points than Romo and Rivers is considered by many to be Dan Marino in the making and Carr's issues have never been with throwing the ball.

People tend to worry too much about balls being batted down by a 3/4's or sidearm QB. Many of these QB's have quick releases and that makes it difficult for defenders to pick up when the QB is throwing the ball. And if you're as good as Romo has been at looking off his wide receivers, it becomes extremely hard to defend.

The only bad things I've noticed when it comes to mechanics is when he pump fakes and then throws deep he *sometimes* doesn't set his feet properly on the deep ball and doesn't get the proper weight transfer, causing him to be short on the throw. He could use some more air on his deep passes, but it appears to me that's not a mechanical issue, just him not getting enough air under the ball.

It's been 5 and half games now. Teams should more than have enough on Romo and the Cowboys offense by now. If they don't, they should seriously think of firing their D-Coordinator.

I know as much about Skip as he knows about me. Wasn't he a writer in the Dallas area ? Since I'm not from town I can truly say I'm not sure if I have seen him or read his stuff.

I do know who Troy Aikman is and Troy doesn't pull punch's on his comments on our Cowboys. He has gushed about Tony, even before this streak.

So, who would you listen too, Troy or some guy I don't know...hmmm...

Also, the comments you guys have made about this Skip character make my decision a lot easier.

Well if you are a cowboy fan and visit this site regularly and dont live in the dallas area then let me let you in on the Skip Baseless beef with Dallas. He wrote for the Dallas Times Herald in the 80s and early 90s ( I actually used to read his column and he wasnt a bad writer, truth be told) covering the Dallas Cowboys. Things went sour with him and the Cowboys and he was not a welcome member of the franchise. His payback was writing a "tell-all" book about the Cowboys and the behind the scene stuff about the Super Bowl Champions. In this book he called Troy gay and said he did not like the black players on his team. He consequently was ran out of Dallas ( nobody disses troy ) and has had a grudge against the organization ever since.

So you can listen to Cold Pizza if you like but you will NEVER EVER hear Skip Baseless give you an objective opinion about the Cowboys. NEVER! He will always find fault and (just like Troy being gay and a racist) will go so low as to make something up just to bash them. I honestly dont know how he is able to get away with it on t.v. but just like sex sells, so does shock opinions.

I just dont want my fellow fans to get upset over a guy who criticizes ROMO mechanics or bashes Parcells coaching or .....whatever. Skip will forever dog the cowboys and if they win the SB then he will say the officials gave them the game. It will never end. Thats why when they do win it then it makes it that much more sweeter because of all the haters! And Skip is definitely a hater.

Go ROMO!!!

I watched that piece and to let you know this is not his first time, I have watched him before trashing the way Romo throws the ball and has his sound effect for it (sounded like CHING ...CHING...CHING).

he said that temas would eventually catch up to the way he throws and most of them if not all will be batted down. I think this guy is an idiot.

Romo played in college, regardless of what division, the coaches from the opposite team would have caught up with the way he throws and would've batted them down. But that didn't happen and Romo instead broke Sean Peyton's record of TDs and the reason is that Romo has a quick release and makes sure there is a clear path for the ball to travel when passes.

I can only wait and wish I get the chance to get to remind this ignorant ******* that he is wrong.
