According to Clayton.
I saw him leave the game yesterday and wondered if it was serious.
Talk about a big blow IF he is actually out a while. Talking about their defense here yesterday, a number of posters said Harris was the key to everything.

The Bears are going to be exposed in the playoffs regardless. They aren't half the team their record says they are.

That's a shame if it's true.
I realize it would help us if we play them in the playoffs, but you still never want to see a guy go down like that.
He was having a great season too, definitely an anchor of that defense other than Urlacher.

They still will be good without him, he's a great player but they have other weapons on defense as well...

its incredible how HORRIBLE their Offense is!! Grossman is a Joke!! 0.0 QB rating!! in the game, geez. its their defense that does all the scoring. and yes I also agree, they will be exposed in the Playoffs.

I didn't even know he'd gotten hurt, but it's a HUGE blow to them if he's out for the year.

what is tommy's injury?
Something with his leg.
I heard them say his leg was in a cast at the game.
Not exactly sure, anybody?

Long term he is fine.
Short term they have to see how it feels.
Was releaqsed from the hospital @ 11 last night.

That's a big lost for the bears if true. Tommy Harris demands a double team every single play. He's probly the best NT in the league.

what is tommy's injury?
I know he was having an MRI so I presume it was a knee.
Huge blow for them and one of my favorite players (as a OU alum)

Defense wins championships... except if they are on the field the entire game.

That really sucks for Tommie. I thought he had avoided the injury bug that has plagued Sooners in the pros.
And you Grossman-homers need to stop inflating his stats... his rating was 1.3 -- so stop giving him that extra tenth of a point!!!

He is a bigger Glover in his prime. He is constantly in the backfield and getting doubled. They will suffer a lot IMO without him, however, like the Ravens, they seem to always have pretty good backups step up and play well.

Wow! Harris is the key to the front 4 pressure they generate. He demands so much attention that they will suffer greatly if he is out. It would totally change what offensives can do in planning for the Bears.
That would be a huge blow to the Bears!

Is the Bears' defense really that good? They gave up 200 yards rushing to Minn. yesterday and have been gashed in the run game all season long. If they don't get the big turnovers I think they can be had. MB3 time baby!

imo they just get all the lucky breaks, tipped balls, fumbles, weak schedules...but i still think they are a great defense

you don't get those lucky breaks if your not good. tommy would be a huge loss for them. the weakness on that team though is grossman. they will not go to the super bowl with grossman.1.3% qb rating, wow.

I agree with everyone who has said it: this is a huge blow the Bears.. it was argued at one point earlier in the season by Sports Illustrated that Tommie Harris should be the defensive player of the year.. he is constantly double teamed and still gets to the QB on a consistent basis.. he is arguably the Bears' most important piece (its either him or Urlacher)..
I gotta say, though, I hate to see this happen.. Tommie is my favorite non-Cowboy (and I don't like many non-Cowboys).. I am also a Sooners fan, and Tommie was always a class act.. I had the chance to interview him for my Christian sports radio show once, and he was by far the most genuine guy we ever interviewed.. some of you may not care, but he was also the most vocal about his faith of all the guys that we interviewed (and we interviewed a lot of big names).. he said that in college, it was tough to balance football, studying, and reading the Bible as much as he would like to, so he used to read it all the time while he was on the toilet.. :D

thats a big loss for the Bears as Harris is one of the best NT in the game if not the best. they still have other weapons on D obviously but him not being there is still huge

He was the best DT in the NFL imo......gotta hurt!

Wow! HUGE boost for the Cowboys if he's gone. That dude is the Reggie White of noses. The only thing I fear is what that front seven can do to our offensive line, and with him gone and Grossman playing like a scrub, I know we'll reach the Super Bowl.

Does Clayton know something the Chicago media doesn't?
Harris injury 'isn't season-ending'
By John Mullin
Tribune staff reporter
December 4, 2006, 3:54 PM CST
Bears Pro Bowl defensive tackle Tommie Harris underwent an MRI on his injured left knee Monday morning. While the exact extent of injury was not available, "this isn't a season-ending injury by any means," coach Lovie Smith said.
"We don't know exactly how long he'll be out but he has a sprained knee."
Players were given an extra day off this week because of the Monday night game next week in St. Louis and will resume practice Thursday.
When they do, Rex Grossman will be their quarterback. Period.
"We are not making a change," Smith reiterated, noting that to his thinking, Grossman has not lost confidence. And as far as giving him a break in favor of Brian Griese, "I don't know how much you get from being on the sidelines," Smith said.
Cornerback Nathan Vasher, who injured his right hamstring in the victory over Minnesota, will be evaluated later this week.
