Jerry:
It was a numbing loss on Sunday night. I think that's the best job of scheming and coaching against us I have ever seen in my 17 years here. They had excellent plans both offensively and defensively. I think that is correctable. There was probably a situation of counting our plusses a little more than we should have. Our prep was good and we approached the game correctly. It shows what can happen on any Sunday in the NFL. We will have to fight every quarter in these remaining games.
We certainly understand that we would like to have more pressure on the QB so we won't give up big plays. We are structured to do that with standard type pressure and everyone sees it is a problem. We have to get players into a better position to make plays. We want to get Roy more in position to help up close to the line. I am dissappointed for the team as we have the opportunity to make some noise this year. I guess I am saying I was really impressed with NO.
I think we have a lot of room for imporvement on the pass rush. Spears has excellent hands and we know he can do it. Canty, certainly Hatcher. He's been leveling out a little bit, hello rookie, but we know he can do it. Ayodele has the ability to put pressure on the passer as well.
THe main thing I would like to say is that picking it up is this game. There's no such thing as having a season where you don't overcome adversity. When you have a bad game, you want to have the opportunity to correct the ship and I think we do. I have a lot of confidence in Tony Romo and know he can do this. This is a good opportunity for him and he can show the team how he responds and show how special a player he can be.
When I see Vick, I think of a hyped up Fran Tarkenton. He can be the equivalent of an extra guy on the field because of the way he can run. When he is throwing and running well, he is just about impossible to defend.
I think the NFC is tight. Injuries, I think, will be the factor in the end for who makes it. From the standpoint of having a team you can count on it spans across both leagues. The AFC has some issues as well although they do look stronger at this point. The bottom line is that the game will decide the champion, not how they look.
I felt we were well-prepared for the game, it just shows that you never know what may happen on Sunday in the NFL.
The new stadium certainly has taken wings. It's been a long time coming. For the most part these plans have been on the board for eight years and it is really taking shape. To me it speaks to a new media as far as design. It looks high tech but yet we weren't going to let the hole in the roof get away as that is a mark of ours. The steel beams are a quarter of a mile each of solid steel. Tex Schramm told me the image of the Cowboys is futuristic and high tech. Let Houston have the horse-riding, Cowboy hat, checkered table-cloth image. We are the future. It will be state of the art with huge jumbo-trons. We've spared nothing technology-wise.

That last comment about Houston is hilarious.

 Thanks for the recap TB, as always you're the man on letting us know what's happening on Dallas talk radio.

Loved the Houston comment even though I've always lived within 120 miles of the city.

Translation, Parcells got outcoached.

We are lucky to have Mr. Jones as our owner!

Agreed, but we are cursed by having that fool, Jethro, as a GM.

If it wasn't for that other fool, Shorty Snyder, Jethro would be the biggest laughing stock in the NFL.

That's one way to look at it, but then he later tempered it by saing: I felt we were well-prepared for the game, it just shows that you never know what may happen on Sunday in the NFL. Jones just didn't want to throw Parcells under the bus.

Atleast JJ accepts the reality, that the loss was numbing (obivious) and that we basically got outschemed (i.e., outcoached, IMO). The positive is that it is correctable.

Look, we're not that bad and NO is not that good.

We need to correct the same stuff that has been hurting us at least since the Giants game. In that game, E. Manning was starting to look more like his brother . . . . We need to COVER FBs, RBs, and TEs in the flat at the minimum. These have to be blown assignments for the most part.

I really hope one of our FS steps up asap. Maybe we deligate Davis to Special Teams and go with Watkins and Parrish at FS.

And frankly said, at least one other LB not name Ware needs to start getting more pressure on the QB.

The Cowboys were outcoached for one game. Big deal. It happens. Sometimes you have to give the other guy props.

Very valid point Mike.

A fish rots from the head down and that was certainly the case vs. New Orleans.

We want to get Roy more in position to help up close to the line.

Then do it!!!

I still don't quite understand why he needs to go down and stand by the side line on Sunday night last 5 mins. It's not like game is on the line or any gold player is injured. I thought he is going to explode and fire people on the spot !

Hell if I was Jerry I'd be down there as well. I love the passion Jerry has for this team and him going down to the sidelines I have never considered it a big deal. I think the players see the passion from Jerry as well

He was right about the loss being numbing. Sure, I was upset as the game was going on and afterwards but when I woke up yesterday morning, I didn't feel anything. I wasn't in my normal bad mood Monday morning after a Cowboys loss. Today, I don't feel anything. Anytime you get beat that way, you just have to forget about that one immediately. We have no more mulligans though.

I don't think that speaks to anything but the honest truth. This season has been full of upsets and unexpected circumstances for nearly every team at one time or another.
