Make them play for blitzing. This is the first time they've seen Romo. Hopefully his footwork owns them.

I disagree somewhat.

I think you have to run right at them and get the push on their DL.
Utilize Witten, Barber/Jones, and TO in underneath patterns.

They will adjust and then, their corners will be on an island, ready to be toasted.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with a skins fan.:abuseme:

I think we need to run a lot. When it's 3rd and 6 and they are blitzing, let them over pursure and we hand the ball off.

Not sure how much they will Blitz us. They did alot in the first game because Bledsoe was back there and was not going anywhere,, things are different now. I am sure they will Blitz, but I don't think it will be like the first game where they blitz nearly every down. I think they will show blitz alot and then back out and play coverage and try to force some mental mistakes from Romo.

Or even execute a screen pass or two, now that we've learned how to.

true that. just get off quick releases(ROMO CAN DO THAT!) when they blitz every one and andy reid's fat.

I dont think they will blitz the same way as last time when we played them.

Last time with bledsoe the gameplan was to put as much pressure up the middle as possible, because of bledsoe holding the ball.

Romo gets rid of it to quick and throws well on the run so that is a dangerous approach for philly.

Also, philly had kearse last time which allowed howard to play inside. This time howard and cole will be outside, howard has not been effective at end this season. So if the eagles put trotter over gurode and pressure with a safety or jones like last time, there will be yards to be had everywhere.

The reason the eagles are winning right now is because of red zone defense.
Washington outplayed them all day. Even with the campbell int for td and the easy missed td throw from campbell to randle el the skins should have won. However they had to kick field goals inside the 10 two times, just like the giants yesterday.

The eagles have played this way for five years. give up lots of yards and then make goal line stands and force field goals. The team that can put the ball in the end zone in the red zone situations this week will win the game. The giants and skins couldnt and they lost because of it. Hopefully we will punch the ball in.

Field position, red zone offense and Ball safety is the key to a win this week. Oh and again I feel that we have to make garcia beat us. make him beat us throwing the long ball, give him the short stuff in the flats and make him beat us by sustaining drives.

THe past three qbs we have played have been a challenge for us because the weakness we have is the deep ball against henry and williams in coverage. Manning, brees and vick have big arms and throw great deep balls. So we had to respect that and when they had opportunities they made the play. I believe this week, you make garcia check the ball down and get rid of it quick and make your living tackling well. If they can not sustain drives with short passes he will force deep balls and I believe that is to our advantage against garcia.

weird note here this is the first time parcells has played the eagles without mcnabb even though he has been hurt and we have won 2 of the last 3 against them in Texas Stadium.

Actually, Kearse did not play against us last time. He was injured before that game.

I agree that they will not blitz the same way as they did last time. The shortest distance to the QB is right up the middle, especially when playing a QB that has feet cast in stone.

I think they will follow what opposing teams have been doing the past 2 weeks. They will prevent Romo from rolling out of the pocket, where he is the most dangerous. I was pleasantly surprised that Romo was able to play from the pocket against the Falcons (despite having some batted balls - one resulting in an INT).

I'm a bit worried about our defense and Brian Westbrook. Needless to say that this isn't our first time playing against him, but we need to sure up our problems with covering in the flats.

Some good threads here.

I agree with making them pay for blitzing and they will slow way down. I don't think they will blitz as much and when they do I suspect it will be more from the corners or both middle and outside.

We need to be able to run although they cannot keep up with our WRs. I don't think anyone can. I wouldn't be surprised if we came out firing with run later and obvious running situations.

Romo must protect the ball.

We cannot let them screen us and dink us to death. Ware has to play something other than pin his ears back and sack the QB.

We can't and Parcells won't let them take the Eagles lightly. They are a very good team who has survived a QB change from injury.

Yeah. That's why you get him going early. I think he will catch anything near him on this day. This will open everything else.

You are right, kearse was hurt in the giants game. Slipped my mind. I do remember howard at tackle in that game, although he did have a sack from the end spot that game. EIther way, howard has struggled since then. IF we can block him one on one with columbo that will allow us to get the extra guy in a route and negate the blitz.

I would like to see us also find a way to get considine in coverage, but I imagine he will be one of the blitzers. I believe michael lewis was injured yesterday but will probably play, not that he is the starter anymore anyway.

I think we want them to have to check underneath this week. I expect to see roy on the line alot. I really think the game plan is to dare garcia to throw deep. Garcia checking off will be a good thing for us this week.

run the ball and keep our ridiculously bad defense off the field.
