View Full Version : List of Pro Bowl alternatives?

Can someone put up a list of the alternates? I can't find where they are listed (if they are listed anywhere). From reading the Pro Bowl thread, it seems like Newman is the second alternate for CB. Is Witten the first alternate TE? Any other Cowboys first or second alternates?

Witten almost certainly is the first alternate; I just haven't been able to confirm it. But if it's not him, it's someone ridiculous like Jermaine Wiggins or Vernon Davis. I know it's not Desmond Clark, L.J. Smith or Chris Cooley, who were the only other guys close to Witten in the fan voting.

Also, Newman likely is the other alternate at cornerback, although Dre Bly or Ken Lucas might have snuck in. I know it's not Charles Tillman, Shawn Springs, Sheldon Brown or Antoine Winfield.

Im allmost shure that Witten is the 1st Alternate for the TE's, who else would it be?

Im a little worried about Newman and TO though...Newman can only be the second alternate and Roy Williams and TO are battling for that 1st and 2nd spot for WR's. I still cant beleive neither of them made it.

Other Cowboys that are probably on the list are Gurode at center as one of the first two alternates, Watkins might be the 4th at safety and Adams has a shot at tackle.

So its rather Jermey Stevens as the 1st alternate or Witten for TE's. Im guessing its Witten.

I am allsoo begining to think that Gorude made it as the 1st Alternate for centres unless the Seahawks have a really good centre too.

And TNew rather made it as the second atlernate or he is not a Alternate at all.

I still cant beleive TO wasnt even picked as an alternate!!

And TNew rather made it as the second atlernate or he is not a Alternate at all.

The Seahawks' alternates already are known. By process of elimination, Witten would be the first alternate at TE, Newman either second or third at CB, Gurode the first alternate at C and Flozell Adams an alternate at OT.

The other missing alternates should be Atlanta's Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, Justin Griffith and Keith Brooking.

The only unknown is whether the other alternate at KR is Atlanta's Allen Rossum or our Tyson Thompson -- although it's most likely Rossum.

is he worth 10 mil a year honestly? that one catch against atl makes it all better waht about after he spat in d. hall's face yeah he's a jerk but T.O. is a bigger one i can't stand the guy personally,i wish he'd shut up and play ball then maybe w/o all the off the field stuff maybe just maybe he's worth it but at this time in my eyes he's a 10 mil bust. i think his skills have diminished greatly from earlier in his career. but it's just my opinion anyways and you're allowed to have one also

Hey I can agree he's a jerk. But if you can't see he's as valuable of a playmaker we've had since Irvin was here, you're kidding yourself.

The only other possible combination is if Barber somehow slipped by Dunn.

BTW, I misread your original post on the subject. When you listed "undertermined alternate - Player A - undertermined alternate - Player B", I thought that the 1st Alt was unknown, Player A was 2nd, 3rd was unknown and Player B was 4th. I should have known better in that there aren't 4 QB alternates for example but anyway, thanks for the great work.
