I thought Watkins continued to show improvement. He didn't get beat deep, and he was in on several running plays.

Purcells pretty much blamed get stoned on the goalline on Jason Witten.
This guy just seems to make at least one big mistake per game.

here is what is bothering me...the eagles cant stop the run but yet we couldnt run on them
the eagles had like 7 sacks in their last 6 games but yet they had pressure all day and 3 sacks on us
vick, garcia and brees have not lit us up like probowlers...we have no passrush and that holds us back...we are going the wrong way! cant junior glymph at least get to the qb...why not try him on 3rd downs? no one else can except ware...we arent hungry anymore...we played the worst game of our season tonight...no heart...what is wrong? we are one and done in the playoffs no matter who we play! if we are lucky we beat seattle but after that the saints or the bears will destroy us!

something POSITIVE. Go look it up.
Positive: Parcells and Zimmer are on their way out. Anthony Henry will hopefully move back to FS.
I've got one thing to say to parcells and zimmer: we dedicated ALL those years of drafting to this defense, and nothing, NOTHING has come of it.
Parcells and Zimmer need to go. Zimmer for sure.

That was by Darren Howard.
You know the guy that can't buy a sack unless he is playing the Cowboys.

the only positive... was BP took the blame for the first time this year!!!
after the Texans beat the Colts and the Saints rocked the GMen... what has this team really done?
Jimmys Boys would have never played this poorly in a playoff run!!!

The only positive from this game is that, had we won, we would've erroneously thought that we DIDN'T need to fire Zimmer, replace TO, replace Rivera, and find another passrusher or two, and go to the store and buy some freakin heart and fire next offseason.
As it stands now, its pretty obvious and undeniable that all of those need to happen.

CBz40, you made an excellent point as far as not seeing anything positive from this game because you're certainly not alone on your take about this game. One of the few positive things I saw in this game was Henry's pick, however, I was surprised, and more than just a little disappointed to see him get caught from behind once Henry had the ball. During the game, I kept telling the people who were watching the game with me that Dallas was playing the game not to lose the game....rather than going out and playing the game to win it. We seemed tentative and hesitant with our execution. Philly came in and were the aggressor, and it showed, IMO.

The O-Line wasn't too bad, just had a tad too many mistakes on important downs.
I thought Romo played very well in the first half. If there's one problem he has it's when we are down he tends to think he needs to make plays when the game is still well within reach. The first INT to Owens was a perfect example. We were moving the ball and the defense had stopped the Philly offense in the second half and if we hit a few more plays and score a TD it's a 16-14 game with plenty of time left in the 3rd quarter. Instead he forces one to Owens who is double covered and it gets picked. He also didn't get much help from his team at times. The sequence with the snap over his head was a perfect example of this. But if the score is close or we're ahead, he's a very good QB. Curbing his impulses is the next big step.
Ware is still great.
Spears played relatively well.
Maybe somebody like Alabama will make Zimmer their head coach. , the dump pass by Garcia to LJ Smith was pitiful as we only showed the full house blitz FIVE seconds before the ball was snapped. Zimmer is an average D-Coordinator, but his defenses in the second half of the season are mediocre at best. Been this way ever since he's been the D-Coordinator.

Jimmys Boys would have never played this poorly in a playoff run!!!
You have to remember, Jimmy Johnson had three elite players at the skilled positions (Aikman - No. 1 pick overall in 1989, Emmitt Smith - No. 17 pick in 1990 and Irvin - No. 1 pick in 1988).
We really don't have many elite players on offense. (Sorry, T.O. can't hold Irvin's jock in terms of preparation, intensity and desire.)
These are the same three that won a Super Bowl virtually without a coach.
Having said that ...
The positives:
1. When we move DeMarcus Ware around he can creat havoc. I wonder why we don't do it more often. Maybe because we're scared teams will take advantage of our other players.
2. Ware was not severely injured.
3. I like the way Romo scans the field. This loss was not on Romo. It was on the offensive line that couldn't handle the Eagles pressure and the receivers who apparently couldn't find much separation.
4. Bobby Carpenter showed some speed out there, even if he didn't get to the quarterback. I think he's going to make major improvements between now and the next year.
5. We get to see the Cowboys the first week of the playoffs. Yes, I like the bye week and the rest it gives our team. But at the same time, I want to see the Cowboys play every week of the playoffs - unless, of course, they lose.
6. If we play the Eagles in the playoffs, I don't think they beat us this decisively. It's hard beating a team three times in a row.
7. T.O may be one step closer to being an ex-Cowboy. If we get dumped early in the playoffs or even if we win the Super Bowl, I don't see him remaining with the team. The Eagles showed how well they can do without him.
8. I did like seeing Carrie Underwood a lot. She is a beautiful woman.
