And I want a switch back to it if he, by some miraculous action, doesnt get fired.

IIRC he sucked as a 4-3 coach too. He just sucked a little less.

We don't have to fire him we can just not renew his contract, which expires this season.

Well, yeah, I said he coached it better, not well. LOL.
But at least we didnt give up 1000 yards per game in the 4-3. We were ranked #1 overall in 03, and while I know the defense wasnt as good as that advertises, it still means you gave up the least yards per game in the league.

the 03 defense was exactly the same bend but dont break bull. I dont remember them getting pressure on the QB and they never forced turnovers to my knowledge. But they were dependable for a late game breakdown after being on the field for 50 or so minutes.

That defense is horribly overrated

Fans will desecrate the grounds of new stadium if Jerry Jones renews Zimmer contract.

I dont see how you're a bend and not break when you give up the least YPG of any team. They didnt have great players then, either. They have some good pass rushers (Ratliff, Hatcher, Ware, Carp) but this system is not for Zimmer.

you are bend and not break when you dont attack the other offense. that defense sat around holding them to 3 and outs...but never really took control of games. The thing they did better than defense was not give up the big long plays, and for whatever reason teams were unable to sustain drives against them....until the 4th quarter

That's not true. We used to blitz alot more in 03. Because our pass rush sucked so bad only way we to get any pressure was to bring the house.

We did it alot more back then than now. We got burn by it but we definately was more aggressive in '03 than this year.

:hammer: Historically, Zimmer has never been able to get out of bad matchups when he's caught in them. Look no further than the Thanksgiving game in 2003 against Miami. I believe he was coaching a 4-3 then, or doing a poor impersonation of a 4-3 DC.

The bottom line is that Zimrod can't coach. He was a terrible DB coach and is a horrible DC. Why Jerry and Bill can't see that is beyond me. His whole mentality is incorrect. You cannot be successful coaching from the standpoint of "don't let anything bad happen", you have to impose your will on the other team, not try to limit what they do to you.

The Eagles DC understands this and was able to shut down our running game and still put relentless pressure on the QB, and cover our receivers. How did he do it? Extra players on the field? Nope, he is able to rush the passer with 3 or 4 guys, their LBs are in position to stuff the run, and their DBs play the ball.

The Eagles don't have more talent on defense than we do, they just have a DC who knows the game. We don't.

Stupid Zimrod! :bang2:

Zimmer is Jerry's guy, not Bill's guy. Jerry pretty much "convinced" Bill to kee Zimmer on staff. Big mistake.

I don't buy that for a minute. Parcells was allowed to bring in his own coaching staff and he did just that. He got rid of Avezzano and kept Zimrod, which was a huge mistake IMO.

No incoming HC worth his salt would accept being dictated to about his coordinators. No, this one is on Bill.

Like it or not, it's a fact.

When is the last time our defense actually confused an oline and had someone gettting a free run at an opposing QB? Someone has to be held accountable for the defenses inability to do anything the second half of the year, its time to cut ties with Zimmer and go in a different direction.

And you know that how?

How you THINK it went down doesn't make it a fact and I've never heard either Jerry or Bill come out and say that Jones convinced Parcells to keep Zimmer.

Don't say it's a fact unless it actually is.
