There are 10 of us coming from California to the home opener against Cleveland. We would like to find a steakhouse where the food is good but not real expensive. We will be staying at the Best Western Dallas Telecom Area Suites on Goldmark Dr.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to pay $40 for a steak. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

well, don't know any steakhouses, at least up in Dallas. But don't worry, your not in California anymore, the prices aren't nearly as high. :D

Not sure where that is, but the Traildust is pretty good, depending on the location.
I would recommend Bob's Steak & Chop house though. It was voted top 8 in the country. It is worth every penny. It is not formal either. I have worn jeans there and I didn't feel uncomfortable.
The site has a menu on it.

On an other note, whenever your down here....get yourself some whataburger (some good stuff). But that's more when you're looking for fast food.

I'm not from Texas either, but when I attended a game last year I used the Dallas Morning News website as my resource for finding good places to eat. If you go to www.dallasnews.com, highlight "GuideLive" from the menu (which is on the middle-left of the screen), and from that click on "Restaurants". From there you can navigate around to find what you're looking for. There's a lot of good info and reviews as well.
Good luck, and enjoy

I make one trip a year down there for the boys and I always hit Papasitos...it's a mexican style. Kinda like Chevy's, except 100 times better...very reasonable. If you get anything with steak it's to die for! Really!
I know there are many places, but just one of my favorites.

Give this man a cigar! Everything not horribly expensive sucks other than Outback and Salt Grass.
Go to Texas Land and Cattle. Dang good food for the money. You will not regret it. Real close to the stadium which may or may not be a good thing.
Love that place!

Thanks for the help folks. Good ideas.
Roywillisill, I had a Whattaburger for lunch last year when I was there for the Redskins game. It was pretty good.
Last year we went to a BBQ place for dinner. My daughter and I both got really sick. We recovered enough to go to the game but just before kickoff I got sick again and while wretching in a garbage can my back went out on me. I was taken to the hospital and missed the whole game. This year I'm looking for steak and potatos!

Did you have to bring all that up again? No pun intended. Much.
They got a website (www.texaslandandcattle.com)and they are just down Loop 12 - about the next exit from the stadium I think.

RoyWill, you just had to do that to me. Going and bringing up the WB like that. Now I've shorted out my keyboard with drool.
Double Whataburger with Cheese and Jalapeno's and some large fries is my idea of heaven.
That is always the first and last place my wife and I stop when we come out for games.
As far as Steakhouses, Bob's Chophouse and Del Frisco's Double Eagel are both fantastic, but a bit pricey.

Paul's Porterhouse. Its off I-35/Loop 12 just south of 635 on the way to the game.
Go to BoneDaddys for sure. Make it happen. You will NOT regret it. It is in Richardson on I-75 just North of 635.

You are singing my song on your Whataburger choice cowboy primate...
You are right about Del Frisco... it is wonderful but VERY pricey... Bob's is SLIGHTLY more reasonable but still high... but you may run into Norm Hitzges there... ;)
Just a note... Bob's is in the area where men find other men attractive... so don't be shocked if you hit that area of town...

I should have known something was up with Bob's neighborhood after I saw the carrot they serve with the entrees...

Thanks, JT. I found a website for Paul's Porterhouse. Can you tell me a little bit about BoneDaddys?

Is this the Hooters type place? Heard of it, drove by, never been there.
Whataburger rules!!!
Try their grilled chicken sandwich (ask to add grilled onions) and you'll never want to go to another fast food place again
