Okay, I've been on a secluded island on the Gulf of Mexico on vacation since last Saturday. I had only basic cable with no real sports information. I just got back an hour ago. I looked at the roster to see who made the team, and was a bit suprised. I did not see Kalen Thorton on the roster. I did not see Martin either, which I predicted. Anyone have time to post me some information on who was released and anything else newsworthy over the last week I might have missed. I would appreciate it. I cannot even find the transactions on DC.com.

I am pretty sure that Kalen Thornton made the team, however Martin was cut. I believe that the Dolphins picked him up. Bill said he was too one dimensional.

DMN - Carson suspended for opener; Cowboys trim roster
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By MATT MOSLEY / DallasNews.com
The Cowboys made their final cuts Sunday afternoon, but that wasn't the biggest announcement coming out of Valley Ranch.
Starting nose tackle Leo Carson will miss next Sunday's regular-season opener in Minnesota for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
In June, Carson served a week-long sentence in the Mobile (Ala.) County Metro Jail after pleading guilty to charges of trespassing and unlawful imprisonment.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Sunday that the team has known about Carson's one-game suspension since the beginning of training camp.
Jones said Carson's suspension will give the team an extra exemption, which means 54 players will remain on the roster this week.
The Cowboys released defensive tackle Jermaine Brooks, rookie safety Steve Cargile, rookie receiver Terrance Copper, rookie safety Tom Crowder, rookie linebacker Ryan Fowler, rookie guard Thomas Herrion, fullback Jamar Martin, rookie fullback Lousaka Polite and rookie tight end Landon Trusty. Some of those players could end up on the Cowboys' eight-player practice squad if they clear waivers.
Martin, a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State in the 2002 draft, was the biggest surprise. Martin caught coach Bill Parcells' eye with his explosive blocking ability, but he wasn't able to show enough on special teams to remain on the team. Darian Barnes, who came over in a draft-day trade with Tampa Bay, will replace Martin.
Barnes is an adequate blocker, but Jones said it was his special teams ability that earned him a spot on the team.
"While Martin is just outstanding," Parcells said of Martin's blocking ability, "Barnes is not far behind. You don't have to blow them up every play."
Jones said the Cowboys will hold off on making a decision on what to do with receiver Randal Williams, who has a broken shoulder blade. The Cowboys have a bye on Oct. 3 and Jones said the team would re-evaluate Williams' status at that point.
Jones said the team would continue to scour the waiver wire over the next 24 hours in hopes of filling holes. The team's biggest concerns heading into the season appear to be at safety, where veteran Darren Woodson is out for at least six weeks with a back injury, and at right cornerback, where Pete Hunter and Jemeel Powell have struggled.
"We are looking - or listening," Jones said. "The phones have been fairly busy today. My gut [feeling] is we're going to solve it from within."

Thanks for the update, saved me from searching all over.
I was right about Barnes over Martin, but was wrong about Sean Ryan making the team, though he did sign with the practice squad according to another story. I just don't understand going with two TE's and Robinson, when the Cowboys run so many 2 Tight End sets. If Witten or Campbell go down at all in any game, our only longsnapper/thirty something year old TE, becomes a TE. A very risky prospect.

Tice didn't guarantee he's RUSH for over 100 yards. He said he'd "get" 100 yards.
O. Smith is their kick returner as well as backup RB.

Any way you look at it, everyone is expecting us to lose and lose big this week. Maybe that is a good thing. I was hoping to upgrade at CB, but, maybe next week.

So you're ready to give up on Hunter before he even gets a shot?

Yeah, I'm not too confident in Hunter. I can only hope he proves me wrong.
