Man, what I wouldn't give to get USC WR Dwayne Jarrett in Dallas. This kid has excellent size (6'5" 215), speed, hands, runs good routes, goes up for the ball, uses his body well, and comes up big in big games.
He has yet to decide to enter the NFL draft this year or come back to college for another season but if there was any way we could move up to get him I would do it. If it somehow included a trade of Owens that would just be icing on the cake! :lmao2:
I love watching this guy play and hope we can figure out a way to get him in a Cowboys uniform.

He's talented and a punk. He'd be a perfect fit to take TO's place.

What makes you say that? He has never done anything that I'm aware of to warrant that label.
Or are you just a Notre Dame fan?

Don't forget the taunt on his previous TD.

Beat me to it. Is that kinda thing not penalized in college football or something?
He was abusing those guys all night long, but that taunt T'd me off.

Notre Dame? Oh lord no. ND is my college football version of the Redskins. I absolutely loathe them.
Jarrett just acted like a punk. On his long TD catch and run he started taunting the DB the last 10-15 yards. As Brain mentioned, after one of his catches near mid field he threw the ball in the defenders lap.
He just came across extremely classless.

Yeah that would bother me too if I would have seen it. I missed some of the game and didn't see him do any of those things. Still, he sounds more like Michael Irvin than Terrell Owens to me.

I agree....he should have been penalized twice for taunting on the jump shot after his first TD and then handing the ball to the CB on that big play.
But I also have to agree with THUMPER, I would love to see him on our team, that kid can flat out play.

He certainly has the attitude of a top NFL WR. Outside of Harrison, is any of them a real person?

Both of them should have been flagged

Well my favorite WR is: Larry Fitzgerald. Guy just goes about his business without opening his trap or showing up his teammates or opponents..

I agree, that is very un-cool of him and disappointing.

I despise showing up your opponent.

Early in his career, Jarrett did not practice hard and he basically had to be called out by his HC and PC. Very early on, he was going to leave SC and move back home but was talked out of it by his mother and SC coaching staff. Carroll moved him in with Lienart after that to try and provide him with some sort of stability. Since then, the guy has really worked hard to get better. I personally think that Jarrett is going to be a very good WR in the NFL. I consider him the second best WR coming out this year. Like many WRs coming into the league, he's got some growing up to do but his talent is undeniable.

USC's Jarrett violates NCAA housing rule

LOS ANGELES -- Southern California's Dwayne Jarrett violated NCAA rules by not paying enough rent for the apartment he shared with Matt Leinart and was declared ineligible -- though the All-America receiver might not miss any playing time.
Jarrett must apply for reinstatement with the NCAA before he can play this season and he might have to repay several thousand dollars to Leinart's father, who paid most of the rent on the apartment.
NCAA spokesman Bob Williams said Friday a case like this can be resolved in three ways: a student-athlete can be denied reinstatement; regain eligibility with no conditions attached; or be required to miss games and/or pay back the extra benefit.
"It depends on the particular circumstances involved in each case," Williams said.
USC's compliance office requested the NCAA's assistance in determining whether a violation had occurred because Jarrett paid less than half of what Leinart's father said was a $3,866-per-month lease.
"We're aware that the NCAA has deemed this to be a violation of the extra benefit rule," USC spokesman Tim Tessalone said. "This summer, USC will apply for Jarrett's reinstatement of eligibility and hope for a decision prior to the start of the season."
USC officials began investigating the matter following a published report in late April that a possible violation had occurred.
Leinart's father, Bob, put the two players on the lease at a secured apartment complex downtown after Leinart moved out of his former residence near campus, where he was being hounded by fans.
Leinart and Jarrett each paid $650 a month, with Leinart's father paying $2,566 -- the difference of the monthly payment.
"The information submitted by the University of Southern California regarding the living arrangements of the two football student-athletes represents a violation of NCAA extra benefit rules," the NCAA said in a statement issued Thursday, adding that a reinstatement application from USC would be handled "in a timely matter."

The ones I can think of that seem to be decent guys are Keenan McCardell, our own Terry Glenn, those Lions receivers (Williams and Furrey) seem cool, Matt Jones, Ashley Lelie, jeez there are lots of them. I think the knuckleheads just make their presence known so often that we forget most of them are decent guys.

Furrey ticked me off with his throw at the star. It wasn't the act of throwing at the star, it was that right behind that star was the section for handicap kids. What happens if it sails and hits one of them ?
What about the fact that the DB was in his face talking noise all game long? Serioulsy, this is the DeAngelo Hall effect...a DB talks trash in a WRs game all game long, because, think about out of how many pass plays, the ball actually goes to that guy. And then its completed. If a QB drops back 30 times, maybe you see the ball thrown your way 10. You catch 6 or 7. And that's if you are a stud. So about 70-75% of the time this DB is jawing in your ear. Its just that TV cameras aren't going to be filming coverage every play, so we never notice it.
If someone wants to stop all this then they simply need to remove all the trash talking during the games. But that would remove some emotion (look at the NBA this year, btw go MAVS, they are on a tear, too bad we live in Cowboyland and not too many notice).
I agree it isn't classy, but if anyone here has played any sports, think the last time you played basketball and some idiot was mouthing off all game long, I'd try to shut them up to. And I don't think you can just do that with play alone, unless you are scoring 4 TDs on him

Jarret has acted like a punk in other games. He is a punk. Talented, but a punk. But then most of the TOP NFL WRs are punks. Outside of Harrison and Fitzgerald anyway. ANd I am talking the TOP ones- not the middle 15 like McCardle and others.

He wont make an impact in THIS system for another 3-4 years anyway.. SO why bother..? Might as well get Randy Moss

If I had my pick I'd take Calvin Johnson from Georgia Tech over that errogant fool. I don't like when you taunt ont he field, that shows no class. Johnson will own the NFL in a short time!
