at RCB/Nickel. I don't know if this total bungal or brilliance by Parcells.
I get killed on Law front but dang that would have fortified our secondary. Lets hope next years draft can cover that. No help tomorrow.

Even the most stalwart amongst us will rest uneasy tonight, Nors.
No vet corner was going to be signed this past week, and have his year salary guaranteed, when there's a chance Pete CAN do the job. We seem to see it as a given he will fail, but Bill said this is an opportunity. An opportunity.
If it's a horror show in the secondary tomorrow tho, someone wil be brought in later in the week..whether it's as pricey and big name as McKenzie or as ancient as Otis Smith, it'll be someone.

I would say that it's time for Bill to prove that he is much smarter than us. :) Everyone on the board saw signing Bobby Taylor as a no-brainer decision this off season. He wanted to be here, he was willing to sign for a very small contract. Bill liked what he had. Time for him to prove himself right!

What worries me is, what if Hunter or T Newman have to come off the field for a few plays...
Well, I guess it's put up or shut up time for Hunter...he's got all the physical tools...

I am willing to take the PI calls if Hunter roughs Moss up enough early for it to make a difference.
Juke, I read a story yesterday, about Tom Landry telling Jethro Pugh in a game that his man was "outsmarting him".
Pugh answered, "Don't worry coach, by the end of the game, he'll be as stupid as I am".
That's the 'tude I hope Petey Boy brings with him tomorrow. Moss is going to show him things he never saw before, but at least make Randy pay for giving the performance. :D

There was a similar comment by Parcells about those bright 4.0 students lining across from one of his players...ya know, "beat on him a few times and he'll be a dumb as you before ya know it"
The only thing that keeps me somewhat hopeful is that Hunter is one of the rare CB's who can match up physically with Moss....he's big...he's got great speed...he's very strong...
Ultimately, that means nothing if you can't play football...but...at least he's not ALREADY beaten physically...

This is what Bill referred to this week as a "confidence builder". Either that, or a pink slip.
If Hunter gets called for some tugging on Moss's jersey, I'll go bonkers. Let it be for, well, something a bit more physical.
I've felt all along the only way to beat this team tomorrow is beat on them. And that won't be easy with a coach like Tice, an ex-lineman, who values trench warfare, as does Tuna.
I think we'll know real fast into the game how that battle will go.

I'd go after Newman at the outset, just to see if I could keep the Cowboys from cheating their coverage over to Hunter's side...doesn't even matter if they are successful at it...I'd also run some screens to Newman's side as well...just to keep the coverage honest...
The problem with Hunter getting too physical is the refs are going to be making an example of how tough they are going to be enforcing the "Hands off" approach in pass coverage..

It's gonna be very interesting to see how that goes.
I found it amazing that Tuna was calling the league office and asking for "explanations", and "clarification" on what the refs will be looking for. He knows the rule and what they'll be enforcing as well as anyone.
I saw it as a preliminary stand of sorts. Parcells complains like all coaches when a call doesn't go the way he thinks it should, but he rarely calls out refs like he did in preseason, rarely makes it public he is making phone calls, for "clarification".
That whole thing makes me think he thinks his best bet is to let Hunter establish his game without undue worry, and get the officials browbeat that what "consistent calling" means is not going to mean a repeat of Mario Edwards type calling.
If Pete plays scared, forget about it. I doubt Bill will let that happen.
