Thing is he shouldn't be used on sweeps anymore. He doesn't have the speed. And he does fumble some. He should be used primarily as a reciever out of the backfeidl and on draws, screens and maybe an occasional trap.

Because we had to resort to our nickel package and throw the ball on virtually every snap, and Ritchie is our nickel back who knows blitz pickup.

As bad as the game was, to lose Vinny for the year due to a bad blitz assignment would have been an unmitigated disaster. The season is a marathon, not a sprint.

I have 34 on 4200 carries at Yahoo NFL stats where I pulled all stats.

Take Andersons 11 on 270 and that equals 171 fumbles for Anderson compared to Smiths 34!
