While I am down after that lost, as others have posted here ,, I do see some positives,,

IMO the offense will be a force to be feared "WHEN" Julius and Rashard get the bulk of the carries. While I am sure the big concern for Bill and the coaching staff is will they pick up the blitz because Vinny is all we have at QB,, they both appear to have the burst and vision needed to ensure the Cowboy's offense will be in the TOP 5...

One specific play that I remember in the Minny game was early and the BOY's where killing them in TOP and they where deep in the RED ZONE of Minnesota..

A pitch left with Eddie George was called, and he was dragged down from behind by the MLB. If I remember, there where blockers in front and more explosive back might have turned the corner and taken it close to the goal line.

Rashard showed what an explosive back can do on his TD run.

An explosive running game ( J.Jones & R.Lee ) combined with the AIR fire power we have ( WR's & TE ), the solid play by Vinny, and continued strong O-Line play ,, the Cowboys have the potential to be TOP 5 in Offense.

If they can just fix the defense ,, and that is a big IF.. I have no doubt they can not only get to the playoffs again but get past the first round.

and i think they were the top offense four weeks into the season last year.

i think they will be fine. but cant get too excited about the offense against a below avg defense and thats the same reason why i am not too down on the defense. it was one of the best offenses in the league and they were minus woodson. there are concerns and a few things to be happy about and i think they bounce back next week.

The online is siginfiicantly improved. That's the biggest hope I took from today.

BTW, has anyone heard the status of Gurode? I might have heard wrong but I think Bill mentioned in the post game Walter is hurt too?

We were in the top 5 of offense for a little while last year as well.

We'll drop off the same way.

Exactly.

We put up 17 points vs one of the worst defenses in the league. I'm not impressed.

If we don't get an eplosive threat in the running game,, we will drop off like last year...that is why we need J.Jones and R.Lee

At no point last year did the offense look this good. Of course, I know it is only one game and Minny defense was harmed by one of their CB's going down in pre-game warm-ups..

But the Cowboys have some firepower on O that was not their last year.. especially if / when youth is served and the runnng game gets it in gear.

Perhaps you missed that Detroit game ...
