I am sad to see ROME go, my second fav show behind DEADWOOD.
The 2nd season was alright but it was hurt with the rush job of fitting 2 seasons into 10 eps.
Well, after these last 9 eps of The Sopranos, I can finally cancel my HBO and switch over to Showtime for WEEDS, DEXTER, and THE TUDORS until the DEADWOOD movies air.

I agree, the showtime lineup is really good but I must give it up for Rome, awesome show.

What you mean rushed...like one scene showing a baby and the next seen being years later. :laugh1:
Still pretty darn good though.
I also agree with you on Weeds and Dexter.
I look forward to the Sopranos and the new season of Entourage.
I am not sure about the Tudors. Looks to be a good show but will have to wait and see.

Or Octavian going from a pre teen to a grown man in one scene but no one else aged. :D

Rome was excellent...Very sad to see it go.
Then the Sopranos ending.
Thank God for Showtime.
With Weeds...Dexter and now hopefully The Tudors I'll still have a few to watch.
HBO better be careful.
They have let too many shows end or canceled them way to early.

Yep. Well to be fair I think the sopranos were really running it's course but the others ones were cost cuts do to elaborate sets and wardrobes (Rome and Deadwood).
I think they will go with more traditional settings and shows.
See Weeds and Dexter on showtime would fit that type of bill but the Tudors seem to go the other way.
Now about the only show I guess I will watch on HBO is Entourage. :(
I watch Big Love as well but do not think it is all that great but something to watch on occasion.

Entourage is going to be the only show I care about. Big Love was ok but it probably won't last.
I tried to watch Dexter but all I saw was David from Six Feet Under.

There was an interview with HBO's president this week that I will see if I can find again.
He basically said that ROME, while actually gaining a bigger audience every week, was just too expensive with HBO losing 30 million per season.
They have cut away all their expensive shows - DEADWOOD, ROME, CARNIVALE- and are sticking to the cheap dramas in BIG LOVE and JOHN FROM CINCINNATI...as well as keeping the cheap to produce comedies.
It was funny to see him actually admit that they learned a lesson from cutting shows like CARNIVALE and DEADWOOD and screwing the fans.
My main reason for HBO is now gone and the only things in the future that I will subscribe for are the DEADWOOD movies and THE PACIFIC WAR mini-series (the follow up to BAND OF BROTHERS, which is rumored to possibly cost over $200 million).

Now that is definitley my favorite show.
I also like Entourage and the Sopranos.

I saw the first episode of the Riches and have the 2nd on DVR...I like it so far.
I can't wait for the return of Rescue Me on FX...

Speaking of HBO series,we just started watching all the episodes of "OZ",and must say it's pretty good. I signed up for a special from Netflix for DVD's,and will go thru series after series from HBO. Since we don't have a Blockbuster within 50 miles of us,and the neighborhood video stores only copy of "Song of the South" seems to always be checked out,N'flix is the way to go. Did anybody else catch "OZ",and any thoughts on it?

Wow if that is half as good as Band of Brothers than it should be killer.
I have Band of Brothers on DVD and probably watch it 2-3 times a year...just a great mini-series.

I've seen pretty much every episode of Oz. It was a good series but I was glad they ended it because the story lines were getting pretty weak.

I never thought David Schwimmer (sp?) was a good actor, however I have to say he really made me hate him in the role he played so he did a good job in that movie.

They did a terrific job of casting it. Even the Jimmy Fallon from SNL was good in the small part he had.
