Dr. Witten"
Cowboys tight end Jason Witten calls himself a "jaw expert" after he missed one game last season with a broken lower jaw.
"Dr. Witten" called the injury he sustained to his upper right jaw Sunday a "bad bruise," not another fracture.
"I'm definitely gonna play. I feel good right now," said Witten, who caught six passes for a career-high 82 yards against the Browns. "I've just got to get the swelling out of it. I'll be alright."
Witten has quickly become a favorite target of Testaverde's because of versatility as both a blocker and pass-catching threat.
"Jason can be as good as he wants to be," Testaverde said. "He's gonna be a great one because of his work ethic and his toughness. He allows this offense to be an explosive offense because of his abilities."
Browns tight end Kellen Winslow suffered a more serious injury than Witten on Sunday. Winslow, the sixth overall pick in last April's draft, broke his right fibula while trying to recover an onside kick with seconds remaining and will miss at least two months.
