What do you guys think. The game is in ford field which is where the lions rarely lose and won their 5 games last year was at home.

If Philly plays like it did last night, it will be a blow-out in my opinion.

6-4 since last year, rarely i doubt that, but intresting note they might be able if Phili goes in with that win against Minn pinned on their chest. DOnt forget Housotn was trying t rebound off that horrific defeat to SD, but came up empty it all dpeneds on Phiuli whether they win or lose. But hope full when we have to play them their on a small losing streak, that way they have no confidnece;)

No, if Lions play like Vikings, then it might be a blowout. Lions Front Seven is definetly better than Vikings. They are not going to give McNabb all the time in the world.
But then Lions always had problem with Mobile QBs. But then again, Lions secondary is much better than Vikings right now.
Lastly, Lions Stadium is not easy one for visiting teams. I went to last three games against Cowboys there. I think Lions have one the best fans in the NFL. They suck each year, but even then they get sold out and fans make noise, that is deafening.
So anyway, Lions have a good chance. Depends how well Roy can play that day and Kevin jones runs. Probably x-factor is Hakim, since on good day he catches all balls thrown to him.

Philly will be favored no doubt, but I see it as a danger game for the eagles. I watched last weeks Detriot game and Roy Williams looks like he is catching on very quickly and is a big play guy. This is also a game in which the eagles could have some what of an emotional let down after all the hype heading into the game with the vikes.

C'mon man. Even at home, the Lions have about as much chance at beating the Eagles as a candle does staying lit sitting in front of an open window during a hurricane. Not going to happen...

GO ROY WILLIAMS!

i saw detroit versus the texans........ it will be hard for detroit to beat philly.
but, at detroit, with post MNF hangover, it could happen.

I agree if it is a blow out it will be Philly who is doing it but games like this can be trap game, especially coming off a MNF game that was hyped as much as that game was. If Philly does not come in ready Detriot can win this game.

Even when the Cowboys were winning championship in the 90's it was these type of games that would scare me. I knew the Boy would be ready when playing another top team but it was those other teams that are messureing themselfs aginst you who tend to sneak up and beat you.

If I were Reid I would be pumping up the Lions to my team all week long, this is a game that if your not ready to go the Lions can spring out and get you. Granted when I make my picks this week I'll take the eagles but I do see this as a trap game and one that would not be a complete shock if the Lions did win.

I agree 100%...if they get to cocky...Detroit may humble them fast.

Theres no team in the NFL that can't win a game. Theres no team in the NFL that can't lose any given weekend.
Detroit isn't as good of a team as the iggles, but the iggles aren't as good of a team as they looked last night. I think the Iggles will end up being one of the better teams in the NFC, but theres going to be a few right there with them.

The Lions should not match up nearly as well against the Eagle defense as the Vikings did. I am no fan of the Eagles but they should be able to shut down the Detroit offense. This is the kind of game they should win if they expect to go to the SB this year (and they do). If the Lions beat them I will be quick to jump off their bandwagon, but I'll predict a fairly easy win for E-girls. :(

Let's hope the Eagles show up for that game as flat as a pancake........After last nights victory over the Vikes it could very well happen.
The Lions are a team with alot of young talent..........this could be the team to beat in the very near future.

Actually, the line is only 4.5 which is somewhat surprising. I could see this as a trap game, but honestly, the Lions have no shot.

i've thought since the draft that the lions will be a great team this year, but that was before their injuries, charles rogers, boss baily, and i believe dre bly's down as well.... had they had all those guys still playing i think that they'd have a definite shot at beating phili... even with them down, i think they'll have a good chance.... as long as their offensive line holds up letting harrington hook up with roy williams :D but i don't know if they'll beable to... i'll be praying...

I wasn't that impressed with the eagles O. They scored one more TD than we did against the Vikes and they were at home.
I was impressed with the D. I don't know how much it had to do with the D or the Vikes mistakes.
I think Det has a shot.

Sorry bud, that's that's and it's also you're.
By the way, there's no need for the comma after "numbers"--redundant.

Philly is going to spank Detroit and bring them back down to Earth. I fully expect Philly to go to the Super Bowl this year if they don't have any injuries. They look pretty damn good and it's only week two. :(

Lions have a better OL than the Vikings, and Joey will get the ball out. they will throw around a nice litle 3 step drop passes, using KJ alot to(hopefully i need hois fantasy numbers)

I think the Lions have somebody that Pheely needs to worry about...
His name is Roy Williams.
I put him up there with Tersmell and Randy Toss.
It's not the same Detroit team most are used to.
Detroit is BNA's surprise team for 2004.
Squeely is good, but I pick Detroit to win.

No they wont have to go against the refs if the game is in detroit. BTW cowboy fans take a look at the lions message board right now. It is bad with several eagle fans talking trash to them and lion, eagle fans going at it. http://forums.detroitlions.com/boards/categories.cfm?catid=9

no, they can't....as in NO
Fans here love to call Philly lucky, lousy team, weakened defense, McFlabb sucks, yadda yadda yadda....they've been one game from the big show for several years running...that's not luck...they are a very very good team on the verge of greatness and they have a great QB. I'd trade our entire QB stable for him in a second, but I'm sure there are those homers who think Henson will be better and that maybe (cough cough), Vinny is better now.
It gets downright silly sometimes.....I hate McNabb's guts, nuts, and every other thing Philly or green....but he's up there in the running for league MVP and will probably get it one day.

I understand the hatred for the Eagles but I always thought Cowboys fans gave McNabb a bum rap. That guys has done nothing but absolutely humiliate us almost every time we've played him over the years. I think too many people took to heart Rush Limbaugh's comments or something. :D McNabb has had crap in Philly to throw to. He's had some good offensive lines, some backs that were good role players but never has he had a flat-out stud to throw to. I know in our offseason chats, I found a few guys in Cowboys Zone like Hostile who also thought McNabb was going to surprise a lot of peeps this year with TO, but it's time to give this guy some props. Mobile quarterbacks... they'll never get their fair shake. Michael Vick faces the same problems. I'm still amazed at how many people would rather have average QBs over someone with Vick's ability. I think I even bought the hype and wasn't prepared for Vick to lead his team to a 2-0 start under a new WCO.

I know that no one can be around to verify it, but if the Lions beat the Eagles next week Iam prepared to streak buck naked through my neighborhood.
That is a best case scenario but not one grounded in rational thought.

Come on guys this is the NFL.........any team can beat any team on any given Sunday. Philly playing on a short week after a big win could come out flatter than a flitter. I would say they are ripe for a picking. ;)

Strange things happen when teams venture out away from the friendly confines. Not saying the Lions will win, but this one will be a better game than many people think. And certainly, Detroit has a good chance to win at Ford.

09-21-2004, 11:15 PM
In the NFl the saying is "any given Sunday"........There is no doubt that Philly can lose this game, the Lions are playing well and it is totally possible the Eagles overlook them as a serious threat. This is the type of game that will show how Andy Reid truly coaches and will also reveal what type of attitudes this team has on it. If they come out and play one game at a time, they will be hard to beat. If they come in thinking ahead, there is a good chance they get surprised and the Lions hand them an L.
