He MUST learn to avoid getting hit. He takes a big hit on the side line when he could have gone out of bounds, and then another big one where he planted and twisted trying for more yards.

I hope your wrong about him not lasting more than 2 years. He is a real fun QB to watch play and it would bite to see him have that short of a time in the NFL.

I saw that play too BZ.

If Roger can take the beating from all his scrambling then Vick has a chance to have just as long as a career.

The people hitting Vick are a lot bigger and faster then the ones that were hitting Roger. ;)

I saw the second one where he tried to cut back right. That hit, if one second sooner, would have left his leg twisted beneath him.

Can't fault him for instinctively trying to get every yard he can, but his coaches are getting years ripped off their lives watching it.

He was limping after that one too.

True however, Vick still holds the trump card as being the quickest and fastest QB that has ever played.

Even in todays bigger and faster NFL, Vick is still ahead of his time (athleticly) ;)

Being quick and fast does not trump being hit by 250+ pound guys running full speed. This is not about being athletic it's about being smart. Smart is getting down, running out of bounds and not taking a big hit trying for an extra yard. ;)

Letting Vick be Vick is the right thing to do for Atlanta. Enjoy him while he plays. He can sit in the pocket and just make throws when he is in his thirties which by the way is 7 years from now). Atlanta has done the right thing they have a potentially solid starter backing him up in Schaub, they can afford to let him play the type of game that he wants to. It gives them a huge advantage.

You are missing the point. I'm not talking about making him stay in the pocket, I'm talking about taking needless hits trying for an extra yard. Scramble for a first down and then AVOID the big hit, he does not do that, and he will have a very short career if he does not start doing it.

Vick just broke one for 58 yards against the Cardinals. He's amazing.

Somebody mentioned it the other day and got bashed for it, but QB might not be Vick's best position. WR, maybe? I don't know if he could stand the pounding. He is a phenomenal athlete, but just doesn't impress me as a QB.

He impresses the hell out of me. The Falcons are 3 and 0. He causes more problems for a defense than about any other single player in the NFL. A unique weapon that I wouldn't change. He has a thick frame like a RB 6'0" 215. He has had one significant injury in 4 years. Why worry or dismiss him just enjoy.

people said the same thing about Vick when he first came into the league...the same goes for Cunningham and Young....he's a great player and that's the bottom line.
