Brady Quinn better hope there's not a Men's Health cover jinx. The Browns' buff, pretty-boy rookie QB is on the cover of the current issue. Here's an excerpt of the story titled "The Adonis Advantage". But as I look at Quinn standing waist-deep in a pool during his Men's Health cover shoot, "solid but not special" is not the phrase that comes to mind. "Can't miss" seems far more appropriate. At 6'3'', 236 pounds, and a remarkable 5 percent body fat, Quinn is a striking image of health. Armed with a football, he takes a deep breath and disappears into the sparkling blue chlorine bath. A moment later, the 22-year-old explodes out of the water, turns in midair, and fires a sopping-wet spiral into the Phoenix sun. Naturally, it hits me right between the numbers.

Sounds like Quinn is almost as impressive a physical specimen as Herschel Walker. And the Brady Quinn Con Job will be almost as big a rip-off for the Cowboys as the Pillage of the Vikings deal that shipped Herschel up north.

Since some of my oh-so-witty, somewhat obscure references have recently sailed over the heads of many readers, I reckon I ought to explain the headline. Jerry had a classic quote when asked about Troy Aikman before the Hall of Famer's rookie year: “All I can say right now is he looks really good in the shower.”
