Vegas bouncer who was shot sues Pacman
The suit for an unspecified amount was filed with the Clark County District Court on behalf of Aaron Cudworth three days after the Tennessee Titans (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67047) cornerback surrendered in Las Vegas on two felony charges of coercion and posted $20,000 in bail.
Facts about the Feb. 19 melee and shooting, which paralyzed another strip club bouncer and wounded one other person, were confirmed in charges that the district attorney filed against Jones on Wednesday, said Cudworth's lawyer, Richard Schonfeld.
"When they made their filing, it confirmed what I was looking for," Schonfeld said. The civil case can proceed independently of the criminal trial, he said.
Jones' Las Vegas attorney Robert Langford said he had not seen the suit and declined comment late Monday. A message left after business hours at the Atlanta office of one of Jones' attorneys, Manny Arora, wasn't immediately returned.
The melee at Minxx Gentleman's Club during NBA All-Star weekend was sparked after Jones threw cash from a plastic trash bag on stage to "make it rain" for dancers as tips, according to the suit.
When two dancers began to fight over the cash at about 4:30 a.m., Jones grabbed one by the hair and punched her in the face two or three times, the suit says.
Cudworth wrapped his arms around Jones from behind, but let go when the club manager was escorting Jones outside. Jones jumped back on stage, vowing not to leave, cursing Cudworth and threatening to kill him, the suit says.
After Cudworth again tried to restrain Jones, the suit says he was knocked over by Jones' 400-pound bodyguard, Robert Reid, 37, of Compton, Calif. Jones took a swing at Cudworth, who restrained Jones, the suit says. That's when Jones bit Cudworth on the ankle, according to the suit.
Jones escaped, and when Cudworth pursued him, Sadia Morrison, 25, of New York, allegedly smashed a champagne bottle over the bouncer's head, cutting him. Cudworth finally forced Jones outside, where he says Jones threatened to shoot him and acted as if he was reaching for a weapon in his waistband. The suit says a witness heard Jones tell another member of his group, "Let's smoke this fool."
Later, the suit alleges that a member of Jones' group fired a black semiautomatic handgun five or six times toward Cudworth, hitting him in the chest and left arm, causing permanent injury. Another bouncer, Thomas Urbanski, was shot in the left hand and the torso, and was left paralyzed from the waist down. A female club patron was wounded in the head.
Cudworth is suing Jones, Reid, Morrison and others for assault, battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Schonfeld said Cudworth underwent "multiple surgeries" and lost wages as a result. Jones, 23, who has been suspended by the NFL for the 2007 season, is scheduled to return to Las Vegas on July 23 to face criminal charges that carry a maximum of 12 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if he is convicted.

None of them have ever, EVER, argued for Pacman's innocence. The fact that you can still misinterpret everything the "Pacman defenders" have argued for in recent threads is quite mind-boggling.

Bouncer files lawsuit vs. Pacman
Suspended Titan accused of biting
By RYAN NAKASHIMA

LAS VEGAS — A bouncer who was shot and said his left ankle was bitten by Adam "Pacman" Jones in a strip club melee sued the suspended NFL player and other members of his entourage for damages Monday.
The suit for an unspecified amount was filed with the Clark County District Court on behalf of Aaron Cudworth three days after the Tennessee Titans cornerback surrendered in Las Vegas on two felony charges of coercion and posted $20,000 in bail.

I guess the Pacman defenders are getting tired of getting slapped around. 'bout time.
Goodell does not look like he is going to have to do much more now- the Bears have cut Johnson and its just a matter of time before the Titans dump Jones. Da MAN has spoken and his WORD is true. King Goodell now rules with a harsh but fair hand- and the masses know it.

From Pac-Man?
I don't know how much proof is necessary for a payout in a civil trial, but weren't they unable to tie Pac-Man's saliva to the bite on this guy's leg through DNA testing? If the bouncer claims PacMan did that, when he didn't, I guess suddenly the rest of his claims become suspect?

A civil trial is all about liability. He has to prove that PacMan is liable for his damages.
And it isn't all or nothing, you can be 54 percent liable, 60 percent, etc.
All in all, he has probably got an excellent case.

I think the guy actually has a good civil case regardless of the DNA. He can't sue directly for the shooting, as no shooter has been charged. But for all the other stuff which led up to the shooter, I think he has a pretty good chance at getting pizzaid...
And if the lawyer knows what he's doing, more than likely he'll get some upfront cash and a percentage of any additional contractual money Pac might make in the NFL.

For a civil all you have to do, is get the Judge to believe that you sustain suffer able damages from the defendant. If he has enough people to stand and say "I saw" the judge will rule in favor of the plantiff.

The biting is peanuts compared to the shooting. If the bouncer's lawyer can show that Pacman's actions lead to the shooting, Pacman will have to pay up.

The guy who got shot has young kids, right?
Young kids look innocent and juries are sympathetic. They should trot one of his kids up there and say something like "now my daddy wont be able to play with me anymore" in one of those cute, little, adorable kid faces....

In the event he did get sued I am sure he has some type of liability insurance if not, he better contact Lloyd's of London.

Liability insurance does not cover for intentional acts.
And even then, I doubt his limits exceed 1million or so, unless he has E&S insurance out of London.

There is not an underwriter in the world that is willing to cover the liability of an intentional act. And I seriously doubt anyone would be silly enough to go to Lloyds to get that policy. That would be like me saying I feel like cutting some guy's leg off, lemme go get a policy to cover it.
The rich don't get as outlandish of policies as you might think. At most, he probably has a policy on his body from Lloyds.
