Special thanks to Skip for e-mailing this to me. His son was injured in Iraq and we've kept in touch over that.

That's pretty cool of her.

To touch others lives after they have lost someone, that is what America is about...doing for others and not expecting something in return.

I can't even fathom how much it costs her to frame and ship those paintings and she won't accept a penny for it. That doesn't even take into consideration her time invested.

That is someone I would love to meet.

I also got that from Skip (sure wish he would post more here) and it was incredible! I showed it to my wife and she was in tears. What a remarkable woman and what a heart she has. I love the dichotomy of her tough exterior and heart of gold inside. She seems like a person you would want to get to know.

We've been praying for Skip's son since he re-enlisted after 911 and joined the Green Berets. He was in his 30s and wanted to go for Special Forces and made it. The guy is an amazing person as is his dad. His Humvee was blown up under him and he was severely wounded. It has taken numerous surgeries to get him to a point where he can move around at all but he still has a long ways to go.

Skip's son is a real hero and I urge everyone to pray for his full recovery.

If you look up her name on Google you find that 5 other artists are now involved in this and some places are helping donate frames and shipping. They are also accepting donations so that they can keep this going. They have contact information so any family who has lost a soldier can contact them.

Just a truly great story.

Sometimes the worst in humanity can bring out the best in humanity.

Such terrible losses for these parents and loved ones to deal with and such a great thing for strangers to help out in doing this for free.

Another thing is you can tell this comes from the womans heart, you can tell she gets a connection to these soldiers even though she has never met them.

She mentions in the beginning that she was never able to have kids of her own, and for a woman, that is a very painful thing for her that wants children. She has taken a painful and personal event and turned it into something great for others.

No one can ever know the depth of pain of loosing a child, except the parents who have lost a child.

I have never lost a child, but I have observed that it cuts very deep into parents hearts.

I think it's awesome that she reaches out and touches those at the other end of the spectrum.
