Anyone have any idea if CBS will have more games in HD this year? It's pretty sad that most of their games were not in HD last year when Fox has every game in HD. I live in KC and most of the Chefs games were in SD last year and it was pretty annoying watching the crappy image quality all the time.

yes they will broadcast 6 games in HD every Sunday this year compared to the 3 per Sunday they did last year. Check AVSforum.com for conformation but I am 110% sure of this. With them upping it to 6 per Sunday this only leaves 15 games this year that wont be in HD ( don't know which games .. this is all contingent on flex-scheduling)

It's funny that once you start watching games in HD, you can never be happy with a SD broadcast. It just doesn't feel right.
I feel your pain.

Some games were completely unwatchable back then. I remember having to guess which team had the ball.

Of all the networks that broadcast in HD, I think CBS is the worst. I think FOX and ESPN have the best pictures in HD. I wish all stations would get on par with ESPN and Fox on HD...

Really? THat must be a local decision because every game I watched on cbs was in hd. I find it odd that the chiefs were not?
I know the nfl picks like two games a week or so that arent in hd, so maybe you just caught the chiefs those weeks or something.

That's what I was gonna say. The only one that wasn't that I saw last year was one of the Titans games. Perhaps we were just lucky to get mostly HD games in DFW?

I have Directv and CBS has off air HD broadcasts.
This is what you do:
If you have a Directv HD receiver, hook up a regular antenna to it.
Do a scan for off air channels.
Keep the channels you want and delete the ones that suck.
You will then find that CBS has an off air HD feed.

Bingo - I have DTV and the HD package that covers most games.
Get the ol rabbitt ears out and do a scan as said and you can get most ALL the local channels in HD for free. Its amazing and as good quality as cable or DTV HD to my eyes.

Why settle for less, when Directv offers the best NFL package there is. I never see the logic of Dish TV when you are a football fan.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has seen the light.

Actually a decent antennae will provide a better quality hd than dtv or cable. I have a 50 dollar amplified antennae in my attic and I ran the cable down and use it when i watch some stuff. Its really there for emergency!!! like when the dish goes out because of weather.
To get back to the original question though, I dont think the question has anything to do with how you get the game, just the broadcast itself. Whether you watch the game through an ant, cable, dtv or dish network doesnt matter. I think he just was watching games that were the ones that were picked to not be in hd last year.

I used to lose reception in rain, call in and complain and they will install a new dish. I have had no issues since....

Yep, OTA (over the air) HD broadcasts are as good as it gets.

I get OTA and dish feeds. CBS just picked the Chef games quite often as the non-HD games. It was against crap teams like AZ and Miami, it was just more often than I would have liked considering I watch them every week along with the Cowboys. This year I'm having a big kickoff party, and pretty much everyone else besides me will be a Chiefs fan, so I'd like the game to be in HD. They're playing the Texans, so I am a little worried it'll be one of the non-HD feeds.
