Giants look much better against the run.
Jacobs looks tough. He'll be a handful the first game.

I think Ravens should be fined for blitzing against Gnats. They are forgetting about "Pre-season Code of Ethics". :(

Sam Madison is still playing? Dang, how old is he? Like 40? He's been around for long time, good INT btw.
pretty stupid chucking that pass into dobble covrage like that though

Lot of touches by Jacobs and not much of passing game thus far.

Wow... the Giants defense is not having a problem stopping the run.... Baltimore's RB's are running without a defender around them...

Giants are breaking the Pre-season Code of Ethics aswell :laugh2:

Nice pass by Manning and a good catch by Steve Smith for TD.
I've always like S. Smith, I think he'll have a good season, if Manning can stay upright.

Giants have looked good on this drive.
I really think they'll be better than we think.
Their OL hasn't played well, but they have good players at WR, RB (I like Jacobs), and TE.
Their DL could be pretty good if Strahan comes back....they do have weaknesses at LB and the secondary.
They always play us tough. We'll have a fight in our first game.

Jacobs worries me. I know Tiki always seemed to own us, but last season I was actually hoping they wouldn't give the ball to Jacobs at the end of our games with them.

The ESPN folks don't like them very much. I think Manning is a decent QB.
Their offense can score some points. For the Giants, it all comes down to how good their defense actually is. We'll see.

They looked good on that drive, but I don't think we'll have much trouble as long as we take advantage of their glaring weaknesses rather than trying to mash a square peg into a round hole parcells' style. Really need to shut jacobs down though.. once he gets to top speed it takes the entire team to bring him down. That leaping chop by scott I think was great, lol.
ravens look really sloppy lost count of the penaltys now seems to be one on just about every other play

The Giants seem to be getting killed physically. 2 down so far? Wow, make that 3 and 4.
The Ravens seem to be trying to dominate physically. I think it is their approach on defense.

S. Madison is hurt as well, not sure of his injury. Perhaps cramp?

They will miss Tiki to bail them out when the passing game is not working... however Manning looks improved and Jacobs has potential to be very good... This team may actually be better off without the distractions from Strahan and Barber

Strahan and Barber have been their two best players for yrs...they wont be better off

The BIG difference b/w Peyton and Eli is that the former is VERY studious when it comes to the game.
Personally, neither of them are GREAT, talent wise. But Peyton is where he is now b/c of his focus on the game, which is why he continues to grow wiser and wiser.
Eli is just the complete opposite-I think b/c he being the youngest of the 3, he grew up spoiled and rotten.

The Giants aren't as bad as everyone is saying, and Coughlin isn't as bad a coach as everyone says either.
If anything, losing Tiki will GREATLY benefit this team. Yep-he did more damage to this team last year than TO did in SF/Philly. Sure, he may have been 90% of their O. And yeah, losing Toomer, Pettigot, and Strahan really stung them, but they nonetheless lost alot of winnable games down the stretch(they should have beaten us the second time if it weren't for some bone-headed plays).
And who knows? After witnissing his brother finally getting over the hump, Eli is now realizing it's put up or shut up time.
Yep-we have a dogfight on our hands come 9/09.

I don't know if I can agree with this. Common sense would say you are right.. but common sense also says a back can't be 6'4, 265lbs and run like he does.
I have my ?s about the guy and if he can be a feature back, but I am not going to say he can't be.

He will take shots to the knees.
Remember power backs have shorter careers because of the punishment they endure.
Also his tall frame makes him more elusive than some, but he is a larger target to aim for as well.

I have the same concerns for him,, and I am a fan of his, have been since I first saw him play at Auburn. But he is such a freak of nature, that I am going to have to wait and see what happens before I can conclude what he can and can't do.

Steve Smith is one of 2 WRs we wanted in the 2nd round, but he was drafted by a team 1-2 picks before us. Since there nobody else projected go in 2nd round we wanted & Cowboys had ruled out CB Eric Wright because of serious off field problem, we traded out with Cleveland & got their high 3rd & 4th round picks.

Jacobs sort of remind me of "Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye of KC Chiefs. Okoye, who weighed 260 lbs was a beast, played 6 seasons with only one great season w/370 carries in 1989 and a decent performance in 1991 but he was riddled with injuries with all the pounding he gave and took, ultimately retiring from NFL with a knee injury.
