The NFL is reportedly considering suspending coach Bill Belichick two or three games and stripping the organization of a first-round pick after the Patriots were found to be videotaping Jets defensive coaches in Week 1.

Sources tell SI.com's Don Banks and Peter King that the league will hand down disciplinary action on Friday. The NFL has reportedly ruled out forcing the Pats to forfeit their 38-14 win over the Jets, but will "definitely" strip them of a first-day draft choice. If Belichick is suspended, he'll be banned from games and practices until the suspension is up, and will not be paid.

2 to 3 games? I'm sorry but that should be more than Wilson got.

If Belichick gets only two or three games for cheating while Wade Wilson gets 5 for wanting to have relations with his own wife, I'd like to hear Goodell's rationale....

If that's all it's a travesty.

Wilson got 5 games for taking HGH to get help for erectile dysfunction because of diabetes.

If Belichick gets half that for blatant cheating, Goodell should be fired on the spot.

It better be more than 2-3 games. That's pathetic. And it better be a first "round" pick. Not just a first day pick.

If the Cowboys did this, I'm sure it would be an 8 game suspension minimum.

Jack Del Rio may be in hot water for what he said in USA today.....

It is what it is, we will all know tomorrow.

That's a really good point.

The message Goodell would be sending here is that taking performance enhancing drugs, for any reason, is a greater offense than blatant cheating, which, in my opinion, is absolutely insane.

And the 'performance' being in bed.

Edit: If the cheating were in bed, this would be a non-issue. Well, maybe with Brady it would be....

How I see it is:
a) Suspend coach (cheat) Bill Belichick, offensive and defensive coordinator > 5 games
b) minus 1st round draft choice
c) game results for NE vs NYJ should be changed to a draw

Wilson should have gotten 2-3 and Bullicheat should get the 5.

Personally I think it should be at least:

1. 5 game suspension for Belichick.

2. $100k fine for Belichick.

3. 5 game suspension for Kraft

4. $500k fine for Kraft (remmber, he's on the Competition Committee which reiterated the rule).

5. Lose 1 first round pick.

6. Forfeit the game.

I still don't understand what he did? Filmed the opposing coaches? I just don't see how it would help during the game.

It's not right that Wilson get suspended for 5 games and fined $100,000 if Belichek gets only suspended for 2-3 games. It's just not right and somebody should bring that to Goodell's attention. Why is it important that a QB coach be held to a higher standard then the head coach of the Patriots. I guess cheating is okay after all. Hope the rest of the NFL including the Cowboys takes that to heart and everybody now does it.

Yes...!

See, they hired a homo to take the pics, because a real man would be taking pictures of the cheerleaders...

1. Go on the sideline and film the opposing coaches giving signals before each defensive playcall.

2. Look at the defensive playcall that was used and compare that to the signal that was used.

3. Relay that information to the Pats coaching staff.

4. Next time the coach uses the same/similar signal, know you know what playcall they are going to make. Notify the QB of what's coming and he can convey that to the rest of the team.

Not to mention this wasn't their first time and they are well suspected of interfering with radio signals of the other team mysteriously at Foxboro when this isn't happening anywhere else.

That is a darn good point. Especially when you consider smaller suspension is for a HC not asst. like Wade.

GOOD LORD THATS FUNNY !!!!!

The more I think about this, the more it makes me angry, I believe the Pats have 2 first round picks next year anyway. What the hell kind of punishment is this? Belicheat has plenty of money, so who cares about the half million. And only one draft pick? He still has another 1st rounder.

Justice is not served.

Goodell's a fraud.

Does anyone know how to address a letter to Roger Goodell? There has to be more than a 5 game suspension for Bellicheat since that's what our QB coach received. Little Bill is a HC for goodness sake. If coaches have to be held to a higher standard then HC's should be held to a much higher standard than a QB coach.

I want to send a letter.
