Ok - How long does Philly stick w/ McNabb if he keeps stinkin it up? He sure seemed to be hurting the Eagles the past 2 games.

It's a good question. 8 games max if this continues.

Did you just hear that he threw 43 x tonight? The ESPN crew was like - WHY was Reid throwing it so much w/ McNabb at about 75% healthy.
Westbrook was avg 5.5 everytime he touched the ball. Why wasn't he ran more? Ride the HORSE !!!
I didn't know he threw that much tonight.

They'll bench him only if they're sub .500 halfway through the season.

Through the season.
They won't bail on him if he's remotely healthy.
Next season is in question, though.

The minute Kevin Kolb was drafted, I KNEW there had to be something WRONG with DMac-remember all the hype last mini camp how #5 made a QUICK recover from his ACL?

I don't know. I am kinda w/ Hos on this.
If they are still struggling after 8 games. I think they make some excuse to bench him for healing purposes and start the rook.

Why is that? Why on earth do the Eagles not go out and get a WR? I mean for crying out loud. Why didn't they go hard after Randy Moss?
If I were a fan of that team - I would be frustrated to no end. I can't believe they start the season w/ those no name WR's.

For some reason Reid just refuses to establish a running game. I don't understand it, unless he just feels that Westbrook will break if he used him any more than he does.

If McNabb is healthy, Reid doesn't use Westbrook as much as he should.

Yeah-even the announcers said that one of the reasons why Reid gets pass happy is b/c he feels the ball needs to be in DMac's hands more.

I think that was true up until a couple of years ago. The younger McNabb was a big weapon. But now.......

When healthy, McNabb is a very good quarterback IMO. Problem is, he has had injury problems the last few years and it's obvious he isn't close to being 100% right now. Throw in the fact that they have no true #1 WR and you have big problems on offense.

Funny how pass happy guys forget about the run game. They where a better team last year when they ran the ball. Reid in many ways is an idiot of a coach. Much like Dan Marino's issues the coaches relied to much on the QB and failed to balance the offense.
Funny how the biggest scoring offense this year also run the ball well and do not abandon it. As much as NE is about Brady they also balance their offense with running plays

But they really needed McNabb to complete passes and get more confident not just for this game but for the rest of the season. He abandoned it at the end not by choice but by force, he was down with the clock running.

I'm not much of a McNabb fan really but I certainly wouldn't hang the loss on him tonight anymore than some of their past failures.
They have no weapons at WR...Jaworski called it perfectly in telestrating how the receivers couldn't get any separation play after play...Part of that reflects a very good job by the Redskins, for sure, but it looked largely like the receivers never even attempted to gain separation (i.e. bumping or making cuts)...They were running around like it was a scrimmage and were not even part of the play.
A couple of times where I thought McNabb included the drive when they hit their FG to make it 13-9...3rd down and wide open in the left flat was Westbrook, McNabb simply never saw him...Easy first down if not a TD...The other was on the drive where they again settled for a FG to make it 20-12...Several chances to run up the middle when there was pass pressure and instead McNabb just ran further up the field and into a coverage sack...The Redskin secondary was basically counting on Philly to just pass on every down...Blame has to go to the offensive coordinator and/or Reid there too...Settled for two FGs when they had put together largely good drives without running the ball.
Yeah, I still see McNabb having the ability to lead the team but let's face it, he needs help he's not getting it.

McNabb is an excellent QB-however, he's NOT a WCO one. It's alot like casting Tom Cruise in some Shakesperean play.

I thought the same thing. Noway you take a QB that high to be a freaking backup.
DMac will go the way of Trotter, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, ect...
Everybody knows Philly bails on 30+ players and draft their replacements 1-2 yrs in advance.
DMac has at most 2 seasons left with the Birds, max.

It was obvious that he didnt want to run... but when he did... he brought back the old McNabb magic and got the chains moving... If he would have played like that more in the first half they prob come away with more points... when you WR's aint open... not much else you can do... just run.

McNabb's WRs are better this year than they've been most of his tenure in Philly. He's a different player right now, and that team hasn't looked good with him under center for the last two years.

Yeah... did you hear Kornheiser say "he had TO and that didnt work" and then again later "TO was a great receiver for McNabb and that didnt work"
You can almost feel like Korny wanted to go a little deeper into why it didnt work? then he backed off twice! hmmmm.......

Ya - Reid is a real genius. He refuses to establish a running game and on the other hand refuses to seriously address the WR positon. Great job.....

I hate McScrubb, but geesh, worst WR core in the NFCE for sure. No seperation, when D-mac finally did accidently hit the receivers in the hands, they dropped it.
That team.........sucks
They arnt scary on defense anymore either.
Shpherd is an average cb at best and now he's hurt, Brown is an OK cb, Dawkins is older and slower and considine isnt anything special.
The pass rush wasnt dominant last nighht, the LB's look weak too.
The Lions are going to spread the field with 3-4 wr sets, you will see guys you never herad of covering the lions wr's.
I think the eagles go 0-3.

I think Reid stays with him until they feel Kolb is ready to take over and he is not ready at this time. Once Philly is out of the running then they may pull McNabb but I don't think Reid will be in a hurry to do so, I don't think any decent team would be in a rush to pull their starting QB who has helped bring some success to the team

He sure seemed to be hurting the Eagles the past 2 games. The decision may be decided without consideration from Reid or argument from McNabb. With the way he ran on that gimpy knee last knee, it may not have received enough healing time and he could be wearing it out severely--maybe to the point where it will have long-ranging implications for his mobility this season and beyond.

McNabb could have had it all.
All he had to do was play nice with TO.
He had his best year by far in almost all QB categories when TO was on the team.
The man just couldnt deal.

Until 2009 when Kolb will be given the chance to start
I'd like to see him benched when AJ gets healthy, unless he picks his game up. But AR won't do that, McNabb is still the short/long term solution and AR isn't going to want to piss him off or shake his confidence. Call McNabb oversensative, but getting benched negatively effects almost ALL quarterbacks.

Good point! McPuke has always had the physical ability to be good, however I think he has always been a mental midget! Some of the things that come out of his mouth at times just amazes me...it's always someone else or a racial slur that comes from him or his momma and daddy...
So, I say let him start the whole season...I mean they certaintely don't want to "negatively effect" him, now do they?

I blame Reid's kidz.
Dad's been mightily distracted this season. He's not coaching but going through the motions.

This couple (I'm assuming it is a couple) does not look happy. At all.
McNabb will finish out the season but Kolb is their future from now on.
Imagine walking out of the stadium looking that silly after your team stinks it up.

Can the Eagles make the playoffs?
Sure, it's very early (34.5%)

I've seen enough. No, they can't (65.5%)
= 2286
I don't think that Marty is calling the plays. Reid's got the clipboard and the headphones on again. Last year during the Garcia run, Reid rarely had the headphones on. And the team did have a balanced offense. So far this year, they're pass happy again, so I'd say that Andy's calling a good chunk of the plays again.
