I know. Some of you don't want to think about the possibilities of a nightmarish front runner winning the Democratic nominee.
But what if Hitlary wins it. And then Ron Paul doesn't. But she chooses Ron Paul as her running mate?
Isn't that an almost unbeatable ticket?

Ron Paul has said that if he does not get the nomination he will not run as a VP candidate.
Now sure things could change but I can't see one of the only true conservative/libertarian/constitutionalists running on a democratic ticket with Hillary.
Not going to happen.

Not everyone who hates Bush likes each other.

Still a way to influence government--just a thought. I think it'd garner the votes for a sure victory. And heaven forbid, if something happened to Hitlary, Ron Paul could potentially become president through "virtue" of default, or what have you.
Again, just a supposition... not meant to be too awful serious.

The split ticket should have occurred with Kerry/McCain.
Then we'd all be much better off right now.

So you'd rather have Bush/Cheney?
If you say yes I am going to have to re-think Democracy and move towards a dictatorship... lol.

No offense, my friend, but are you high right now? :D
There are roughly 100 million people in the United States (including you and quite possibly even me) who Hillary would pick before Ron Paul.
This would never, ever happen. Not in a billion years. I would be happy to bet you a dollar and give you a million-to-one odds on this happening, because then I would take your dollar and buy a tasty double-cheeseburger with it.
This thread is the equivalent to the trade threads where people suggest we trade Bobby Carpenter to the Bengals for Chad Johnson.
My sincere apology if any of this comes across as too harsh, but I'm a little mad right now because you made me spit Dr. Pepper out of my nose all over my computer. :p:

Paul won't be running as a 3rd candidate, either, right? Seems like I read that somewhere. I wonder with the support he has now if he'd be willing to change his mind on that.

At the debate, I think he specifically refused to rule out running. Or maybe he refused to promise that he'd support the nominee. Something like that.
I'd like to see him run 3rd party if Rudy gets the nod.

Ron Paul as a third party candidate would be tempting. Even though I find some of his position and economics to be a bit extreme, we need more alternatives. And I do respect the man, which is more than I can say about most presidential candidates.....

That's the thing, Mav. They all change their minds. They're politicians.

You've got to be smarter than this. Million to One odds?
You know Hillary will do almost anything to become president.
It'd shock the world, yes. But it'd be a winning ticket.

If Rudy gets "the nod" it's game over. He's a sitting duck.

could descend from heaven to be her running mate, and I wouldn't vote for her...
It looks more and more like I'm gonna wind up abstaining from casting a vote for President in 08... I'll vote, I'll just pass on that one...
Can't see a candidate on the GOP side I can support, and I'll NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton...

You're probably right. My wife would literally kill me if I lost a million dollars on an internet bet. :p:
But seriously, how do you see Paul adding something to her ticket? It would likely cost her millions of votes.

It's a strange combo. And I know that it'll likely never happen, but I think people would actually vote for that ticket.
There are two candidates I like Gravel and Paul... neither one of them really have a chance, in my opinion, other than to be VP if a front runner chooses them.

I think Paul on either ticket would help the candidate that he ran with.
