Default Mayock on Patrick Peterson

Dont subscribe to the pay stuff, but here's the blurb:

Quote:
@NFLRumorCentral Mike Mayock says LSU's Peterson may be better as a safety in the #NFL. How does this affect his draft stock?
I dont know what the whole article says, but the above I do believe. I've never thought he was a Deion or Mike Haynes type CB prospect.

A new era begins

It means he will fall to 9 and be our starting FS next year.

I like both him and Prince as safeties, especially on this team.

I really think if we were to get Peterson and put him at FS, it would immensely improve our secondary and defense, overall. Assuming we get him at 9, we could still take a shot at a top OT in the 2nd. I'd be happy with that.

I think he's a CB, but I don't care as long as we get him. Would you take Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu at #9? I would.

FORGET TRYING TO GET A TOP TIER OT IN THE 2ND RD.....THEY WON'T BE THERE. Rob Ryan will FIX the defense and get additional players to FIT his scheme. We may even get Shaun Rogers to play NT and one or two other defensive players that Cleveland CUT recently. One or more could provide the necessary DEPTH for our defense at NT, ILB and other key defensive position lacking depth (and experience) at the moment.

Jerrah needs to address the OL in this year's draft due to our (unusual) drafting position of picking 9th in each round. Our 90's team had the BEST OL in the NFL and our D-Line had the best DEPTH and rotation as well. We NEED to get more younger and explosive at the Guard and Center position and draft the BPA OT in Rd 1. If we draft and upgrade our TALENT base in the OL THIS YEAR, we'll be a VERY DANGEROUS TEAM COME THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!

Hopefully, Jerrah will get us a BIG RB or two as well to wear down teams and then HIT them with the BIG STRIKE to Dez or Miles going deep. This new strategy will also keep our DEFENSE more fresher and with Rob Ryan's scheme, I expect alot more turnovers (i.e. picks & fumbles) and more 3 and out by opposing offenses.

That being said, we'll need to ensure our OL can sustain the added minutes on the field. So, we definitely NEED to get BIG and NASTY and YOUNG on the OL with a couple of BIG RBs to wear down opposing defenses.

Trust me, NOBODY will want to FACE the Cowboys if we have a nasty OL with big RB's and Rob Ryan leading our defensive unit (especially is we're able to sign Shaun Rogers and rotate him with Raftilff at the NT position) and get more of Cleveland's recently CUT defensive players for depth (they were slightly older and making TOO MUCH money).

I don't want someone who has to learn a new position at the 9th spot... Give me Von Miller.

Peterson is the best player in this draft since Luck decided to go back to school.

If there is any way possible to come out of this draft with him, it will be like hitting a grand slam. I have watched alot of LSU games this past year and Peterson was the best player on the field in almost every game.

The #6 pick is the key, Clevland would be the logical trading partner for us and since Clevland drafted Hayden last year they probably will not draft another corner in the top 10 this year.
