Von Miller Consensus at #2

This is the new rumor or basically what is being said by Gosselin, McShay, LZ (Houston Chron and Radio Host) and others from PFT. That moves Peterson and Dareus down. I'm really excited about this draft. I think there will be alot of maneuvering. Kipers last mock has Miller there too.

Remember Mayock also has Von Miller No. 2 to #Broncos, and NFLN's Kara Henderson, who's in Denver, says sentiment has shifted toward Von.

ESPN's Todd McShay said on SportsCenter Thursday morning that he "strongly believe(s)" the Broncos will take Texas A&M LB Von Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.
Mike Mayock and Kara Henderson of NFL Network agree with McShay. Henderson is on site at Broncos headquarters, and if we had to construct a mock draft right now, we'd probably give Miller the edge over Marcell Dareus. It's going to make pick No. 3 very interesting for the Bills. Buffalo could easily take Dareus, but Adam Schefter believes Blaine Gabbert is a serious possibility.

Okay, I guess I don't get this. I don't keep up with Denver at all, but Fox is running the 43 there, right?

I don't see how Miller fits into that defense at all. I think he has to be a 34 OLB, and a weakside one at that.

If this happens I see the Bills taking Peterson or trading town to 10 so the Redskins can jump the Bengals and take Gabbert.

That is exactly why I think this is a smoke screen and they will take Dareus.

Maybe they want to sucker some team who loves Miller into trading up for him.

That or they are trying to deter teams who may be looking at trading up to #1 with Carolina in order to draft Marcel Dareus. If Denver leads teams to believe that Miller is their guy then teams that covet Dareus may not feel the need to trade up to the top spot if they think they can trade up to 3, 4 or 5 and still get him.

yeah, it makes no sense at all. Dumerviel will likely have to play SSLB, kinda like Peter Bowlware in Baltimore while they ran a 4-3. You can get away with 1 pass rushing LB in a 4-3, but not 2.

This makes me think they are enticing someone to trade up, maybe Buffalo, but I doubt they do.

With the second pick in the draft, why blow smoke? Carolina takes whoever they want, then they have the pick of the litter.

Based on what I know, there are several guys that have been and will be in play here on the defensive side of the ball. But if you want dynamic upside, it's hard to go wrong with Miller. In Denver, he can be the SAM linebacker, a devastating option when the Broncos want to get after opposing QBs. Miller is a smart, explosive, natural pass-rusher with the speed to track down QBs and also drop into coverage, then play the run down the line. Miller is a special talent and is a common pick as the rookie who can provide the most immediate impact
