Default On Espn - Roundtable

I expect this thread to be moved (rightly so), however, just wanted everyone to know that there is a roundtable discussion on ESPN right now. They are discussing whether college athletes should be paid or not.

Yes, and he is very well spoken.

The issue that is not being brought up enough is that probably 99% of all collegiate athletes will not play professionally.

Unfortunately too many poor athletes are looking at college as a path to pro sports when, for the vast majority, it will not be. If they put the emphasis on the student part of student athlete, many more of these players would realize that they are getting a way out, it's just does not have the bling.

Good post. College is an institution of education, and should always be.

Hell, he had a lot of time to read on the sidelines for four years. I should hope he got something out of it.
You've been weighed

You've been measured

And you've been found to be a casual fan

the only way I can see it is if their practice of athletic schedule prohibits them from participating in a work study program. Then maybe a 20 hour minimum wage salary pay could be a possible option. That would give them about $80 a week for spending money. Scholarship athletes are already getting paid in my opinion.
