He's fast, I know that much.
COURTNEY ROBY
Wide Receiver
Indiana
Senior
6'0 | 185 | 4.33
HOME TOWN: Indianapolis, IN
HIGH SCHOOL: North Central
QUICK STRENGTHS: Speed, Quickness, Run after Catch
QUICK WEAKNESSES: Size, Strength, Release
NFL COMPARISONS: Athletic and versatile receiver who needs to add strength ala Reche Caldwell .
Roby came in and immediately saw time as a true freshman. He went on to become one of Indiana's all time most prolific receivers as a sophomore and a junior. He also starred in track for the Hoosiers running the fastest 60-meter dash of any Hoosier sprinter all year.
A good athlete who gets doesn't receive much attention because of where he plays. Roby is a smooth, quick player who runs nice routes and is dangerous after the catch. He has outstanding open field speed and can get deep. He is a multi-talented player who can play in a multitude of different positions and sets as well as return punts and kicks. He has good quickness and shows it coming out of his breaks. He has good hands and can make tough grabs in traffic. After the catch, he is elusive and has good open field moves. He lacks top size and strength though and has trouble against more physical corners. He does show great character, effort and work ethic and is a positive locker room presence. Roby has had some knee problems in college, but none of which should be a concern come draft time.
Roby is underrated and he is the type of player with the versatility to help a team. If he had more talent around him, Roby could already be regarded as one of the nation's better receivers. He should be a late 1st day-early 2nd day pick.

He's your classsic deep threat guy, which is really what we need. IMO, this is the type of WR we would probably be looking at if we couldn't get one of the top 2 or 3. Makes way more sense, IMO, to take a guy like this guy in the 4th, or maybe 3rd if we can trade, then to reach at 20 for somebody.

Being originally from Indiana I have followed Courtney Roby a little and I think he could be a good WCO type receiver. A big YAC bonus type guy that we could probably pick up in the 4th or 5th maybe unless he does something spectacular to skyrocket his stock.

Courtney Roby
WR | (6'0", 184, 4.43) | INDIANA
Strengths: Possesses great speed and can stretch defenses vertically. Has the body control to adjust to the ball while it's in the air and can make the tough over-the-shoulder catch. Plays with a mean streak and will fight though press coverage. Holds onto the ball after taking the big hit and isn't afraid to go over the middle. Has good experience returning kicks, plays with a non-stop motor and should develop into a quality special teams' contributor. Showed steady progress at the college level and should only get better with experience.
Weaknesses: Lacks ideal change of direction skills, doesn't explode out of cuts and needs to improve route-running skills. Builds speed slowly, doesn't have the elusiveness to make multiple defenders miss and needs a seam to turn the short gain into the big play. Lacks have ideal height and will have some problems challenging for jump balls in the red zone as well as downfield.
Overview: Roby played in 11 games and started three of them during his freshman season in 2001. He has been a fulltime starter since and has developed into one of the nation's most productive wide receivers as a senior in 2004. Roby doesn't have elite size and he's still a little bit rough around the edges as a route runner, but he has excellent speed and he continues to make significant strides with more experience. He is a developmental prospect that should make his biggest impact on special teams as a rookie but has the potential to develop into a Brandon Stokley-type No. 3 WR in the NFL if he continues to improve at such a fast clip. Right now Roby projects as a mid-Day 2 prospect but if he finishes strong as a senior and is able to run the expected impressive 40-time during post-season workouts, he could come off the board even earlier.

Is that a joke?
Sounds like a good pick for the 4th, if he's still there and we haven't taken a WR already.

TSN has him ranked 11th
Courtney Roby, Indiana, 6-0 1/8, 189. Speedy in the mold of Isaac Bruce. Athletic; has good leaping ability. Has good height and hands. Can get yards after the catch. Has a quick burst to separate before and after the catch. Could improve strength and toughness.

As for myself, I would prefer he be a couple inches taller. Maybe I'm too picky
