Default Cowboys - Please Take a Late-Round Flier on Keenum

Hopefully some of you saw the 'Ticket City Bowl' when U of Houston went against Penn State. This guy may go undrafted and initially looks like another system QB ala Mike Leach/Texas Tech system. But he throws a really nice deep-ball and has a quick release.

He eerily reminds me of another Texas high school product currently doing quite well at the NFL QB position.

Tony Romo is gonna be 32 at the onset of next season and Dallas needs to start grooming a few more young backups. Kitna is a geezer and it would be foolish to have Stephen McGee as the lone 'contingency plan'.

I'd rather go with Russell Wilson.

Russell Wilson of Wisconsin, and G.J. Kinne out of Tulsa are my favorite late round/undrafted prospects.

Biggems, after the season debut of Ax-Men was over, I watched Harnish. He is an intriguing prospect. I know it's early, but I don't get the feeling that S. McGee has "it". And I want to be wrong here.

Hmm. A guy named Drew Brees. Besides, Russell Wilson played this year behind Wisconsin's NFL-sized offensive line. Why couldn't he do it at this level? I understand the game is a step faster, but if he could see over those guys in college, why couldn't he see over them in the NFL?

I dont know what Brees is listed at but he was being interviewed by Aikman about a week or so ago before their game. Looked like Aikman standing next to a Pop Warner player or interviewing his son and I'm a Brees fan.

He's listed at 6'0", but he's not even that tall. He's 5'10-5'11.

Same here. I like Keenum but I tend to shy away from Houston QB given the offensive system that seems to exaggerate the stats.

i assume you are talking about brees and i agree. the guy will need to develop as an nfl qb but that doesn't change the fact that his release is as fast as romo and can check down 5 receivers in 2 seconds

It is not the waitress's fault!

Terrific player, but durability is a legitimate concern...
