Video Video - Eddie DeBartolo - A Football Life

Couple cameos from Jerry, and of course 'the catch'.

"I just kind of stopped in the middle of a route, which is the worst thing you can do," Ogletree said. "He just told me, 'What were you thinking?' I kind of mumbled something to him and he was like, 'You're stupid.' "

"If we can get the running game going early, that'll open up the passing game for Troy." - Jerry Jones, 11/12/12

It was evident that Eddie and Bill had bumps in the road in their professional relationship. Just look at Bill after 10 years of being with the 49ers and he got really old looking really quick.

I have never seen an owner since that would invest so much into a sports franchise to obtain the pinnacle of success. He was truly one of the greatest owners in league history. An owner that would spend whatever it took to win in a time in the NFL when that was possible.

Yeah, except he cheated his fellow owners.

After Debartolo left Jim Drunkenmiller walks into John Yorks' office asking for the under the table payout Eddie promised him so they could get under the cap in 2004.

Heck of a guy.

I've enjoyed every single one of these shows.

Give the creator of these an Oscar. Especially for the Kurt Warner and Walter Payton ones.

My best man at my wedding was their main "off site security" guy. Their "on site" guys were out of this world mafia types. All mob money ran the 49ers.
