IRVING — The NFL trade deadline was moved back to Thursday because of Hurricane Sandy, giving teams two additional days to negotiate.
So, will the Cowboys be making any moves between now and 3 p.m. (CST) on Nov. 1?
When asked that question on Wednesday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones responded: “I don’t think so.”
“Everybody believes they’re right around the corner to breaking even and maybe getting a little bit ahead of it,” Jones said during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “So no one really wants to part with somebody that they think can help them win this year. We’re the same way. You want to make sure that you have your depth. This day and time … after you get through the top echelon of starters and really top backups, which most people won’t part with, then everybody starts to get pretty even. We’re trading a guy for your guy … but they’re not difference makers. Everybody’s looking for somebody that’ll really help their team and unfortunately there’s not many guys like that out there.
