Default What were Aikman, Buck and Pereria talking about on the Dez TD?

What in the world were Aikman, Buck and Pereria talking about on that play? There was nothing even close to sufficient evidence to overturn the call on the field, yet all three of them were absolutely sure it was getting called back. I just don't get that one at all.

The ball very clearly was over his forearm the entire time. Any time either of them can go against the Cowboys though...

The ball moved when it touched the ground. I thought the call could've gone either way

It never hit the ground though. It hit his forearm and moved while still on his arm.

I thought it was good, even after the replay. I was surprised the announcers and Pereira all thought it would get overturned.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

This is what I saw, he had his arm under the ball the whole time. Just because the ball moves doesn't make it incomplete. It's no different from when the ball hits the ground even though the ball is in the receivers hands. The ground wasn't used to trap the ball so its a catch

Exactly! Sure, the ball moved while on his forearm. But, there was never any indisputable visual evidence that the ball actually touched the ground.

Whatever it was, it couldn't have been all that clearly a non-catch, because it stood up on the field, and it stood up under review.

One person's judgment (with a strong bias) isn't very convincing to me. That was about as clear a non-catch as they come on replays.

There was not enough evidence to over turn it. End of story.

Inconclusive at best. The first call would have stood. I personally saw it move, but it looked as if it stayed on his arm.
