Default Two ideas to improve the team going forward

1. Trade Demarcus Ware for draft picks and rebuild the team, similar to the Herschel Walker trade.

2. Hire Norv Turner as Offensive Coordinator (assuming he becomes available) and keep Jason Garrett as Head Coach.

I love Ware as much as the next person, but this team has many needs, and has little in the way of salary cap room to fill positions via free agency.

Jason Garrett has a philosophy and approach to coaching that Jerry clearly has high opinions of, and will not be fired regardless of how the season plays out. However, adding a real offensive coordinator like Norv could be just the right addition to the coaching ranks which makes things gel.

I would agree with trading Ware if we actually got value for him. The pass rush is non-existent with Ware so if the picks are there, sure. No way Norv signs on to just be OC though. He'll have no problem getting a HC job.

I don't see Norv getting another shot. He stunk in Wash, Oak, and now San Diego. He will need to be an OC again and build his reputation back up.

Like Wade, Norv is a much better coordinator than HC. I actually think hiring Norv as OC would make Garrett a better head coach, assuming he's willing to give up play calling responsibilities. He brings loads of experience and they share similar offensive philosophies. If Jerry's going to keep Garrett, then he needs to give him more help.

With Norv you would probably fix the offense but then you would have to hire a game managment coach and a challenge coach.

In today's NFL, you can turn your fortunes around in a single season. So getting rid of Ware is probably not a wise move.

Dez Bryant, Receiver. A man who's season is over. Gentlemen, the Cowboy's staff can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first super human receiver.
Dez Bryant will be that man. Better than he was before. Better.... Stronger..... Faster......

Trade Ware and keep Garrett. Surely, you can't be serious.

Now, I'm all for "trading" Garrett and keeping Ware. Too bad coaches can't be traded anymore. I'm sure Garrett would fetch a ... 2019 7th rounder, maybe.

He is serious. And don't call him Shirley.

1. Fire Garrett
2. Hire Sean Payton

I rarely hold on to players, the star is all that matters.

I'm all for trading Ware for the right price.

This is the right attitude. There isn't a single player presently on this team who's untouchable. I'd deal anyone for the right price.

i love Ware, he may very well set every franchise and nfl sack record known to mankind, however its only on occasion he makes a big play anymore, rarely ever when its clutch-time, and he usually doesn't dominate weaker LTs like he should. You can argue that teams slide their blocking schemes, etc and that's probably true. But this year IMO Spencer has been overall more disruptive....ya ya maybe because he's not seeing as many double teams. But the bottom-line is there are lots of other D-coordinators getting tons more pressure from cadres of lesser players. So well maybe our issues are more with Ryan and his NON-pressure schemes than the players I don't know. If you can get multiple firsts and seconds for any player on your team save a franchise QB, you take it. In today's NFL the most important people on a team are the QB (which you can never overpay for if he's a franchise guy), HC, and coaching staff. After that, everyone else is expendable for the right price. Look at NE for the past decade, Pitt, Indy (up to Payton's exit), and NYG. The coaching staff and QB are the constants.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

Too funny!!!! Yea, we can fix Garrett's problems by committee. Hire a coach for ALL of his weaknesses.
"Maybe next year!!" We have been saying this phrase WAYYYYY too long!!!!!!!!!!
