Default Has there ever been a QB as unclutch?

In the history of the NFL? I am actually curious. 9 million for that and 14 next year. I was seriously thinking back Ive never seen the likes of it. If any of us failed to that degree we would be fired from any job.

If Romo is un clutch...so is Ware....

Let's not pass blame to just 1 guy.

If Ware does his job consistently....then Romo get's more chances.

It's a team game. Romo has carried us so many times.

Golden boy Ware, always get's a pass.

I agree. Ware was a ghost lately. But seriously?? Too this magnitude? How many times do people and an orginization need to be burned by this Romo character?

I was officially done when Romo was out there with his head down and RG3 was the one patting him on the back and consoling him after the game. Wonder what kind of advice he gave to Romo.

Probably told him it was best if he retired ASAP.

He's not unclutch. He plays exactly as well as most NFL QBs do in road do or die games. Troy sucked in them, Danny White sucked in them, Marino sucked in them, Young sucked in them, Brady sucks in them.

If the best the Cowboys can do every year is a road game against a division rival who is also desperate to win, they are NEVER going to break through. Knee jerk fans totally underestimate how hard these types of games are to win. Your hero Troy Aikman had 5TDs and 9INTS in them. It's HARD to win on the road.

Romo might just be the most unclutch upper-level QB in history. Romo is not elite but he's upper middle of the pack who plays down in big spots. For a guy who puts up big numbers there has imho never been such a QB who has even more failures and chokes in big... HUGE... spots.

McNabb is #2. He was upper-level but no way elite.

Favre is probably #3 (remember his games vs the Boys in the 90s) but his Superbowl win gives a free pass to rest of his career-filled bone-headed plays ala vs the NYG in his last playoff debacle. He was never elite but stats and a strong arm fool people into ignoring his stupid play.

Tarkenton #4

Eli's brother could be #5

FWIW Danny White was a choke-artist also but got deeper into the playoffs against notably better teams. But he was a similar type of player to Tony and also a decent/nice guy, just lacking the killer instinct and ability to improve in the clutch. Ultimately White & Romo are non-elite "good" QBs but unfortunately who fail in the clutch.
Dear "football idiot" & master enabler (jerruh), you wasted yet another Cowboy's season. It is urgent for you to STEP DOWN AS GM and STICK TO MARKETING. Agenda... a long over due 6th Lombardi Trophy.

It is hard to win on the road yes, but an elimination game is an elimination game. Tampa Bay was at home. The idea of winning during the season is to not have to be on the road. Elimination games are elimination games no matter where they are played...

Ware didn't throw 3 picks last night. Yes, it's a team game, but ROMO is the reason we lost last night. Not ware, or hatcher, or spears. ROMO.

That roughing the passer on Hatcher sealed our fate. If not for that, we probably get the ball back with a 6 point deficit and a couple minutes left. I'm sure you already knew that, though.
"I just kind of stopped in the middle of a route, which is the worst thing you can do," Ogletree said. "He just told me, 'What were you thinking?' I kind of mumbled something to him and he was like, 'You're stupid.' "

"If we can get the running game going early, that'll open up the passing game for Troy." - Jerry Jones, 11/12/12

I agree. We would've been down 6 with no timeouts and about 1:45 to score a touchdown. However, that scenario is a lot more difficult than the scenario Romo blew by throwing his 3rd pick. In that scenario, we were only down by 3 and had about 4 minutes left and all our timeouts.

Both were big mistakes. We'll never know how Romo would have fared if Hatcher hadn't smacked Griffin, but we do know that that Romo blew the chance that he had to put us back in the driver's seat.

Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore
