Default Cowboys #18 selection

OG Chance Warmack
FS Kenny Vaccaro
DT John Jenkins
DT Jesse Williams
C/G Barrett Jones

All of these guys are hypothetically on the board at #18.

Rank the players 1-5 with #1 being the highest rated and #5 being the lowest rated. Also, tell us who you would select at #18 overall.

I'm taking DT John Jenkins and hoping I can trade up for Barrett Jones in the late 1st/early 2nd.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

I agree with this. It would awesome if we could land Jones in the second round.

I'd love any of those DT's. We would land two starters out of those two picks.

Warmack is the only player on that list that I would take at #18.

I think the others end up in the 2nd, maybe late 1st.

IMO, the Cowboys only take a DLineman in the 1st or 2nd if he is a pass-rusher.

What do you guys think of trading down 5-7 spots and drafting B Jones and picking up an extra 3rd or 4th rounder?

I'd be ok with it, if it meant two of the next three picks were directed at addressing the front seven particularly DL and OLB.

I'd be cool with a trade down if it still meant getting one my 5 players.

Either Barrett Jones or one of the DT's!
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

Hard to know where any of these players will shake out at this point but I will say that I've seen Vaccaro projected much higher then 18. I don't know that he will be there.

I would love to get an extra pick; however, Warmack and Cooper have All-Pro type of talent while Barrett Jones = Kyle Kosier.

1 Warmack- a great player that improves our OL
2 Jenkins- could be a Wilfork type DT
3 Williams- I like him slightly better then Jones
4 Jones
5 Vaccaro-as of now I have no interest in taking a safety until the 3rd/4th rd

If Safety is the best player on the board at the time we pick, I am all for it, especially if it's a FS.

That is a huge area of need for us IMO.

Right tackle. Whoever the best one is. We can sign a free agent nt and draft another later.

Parnell will be the RT.

You believe Parnell did enough to secure the RT spot next year? IMO I just can't see that happening after the trouble we had this year....He'll def have some competition in the form of a early/mid round pick...

My rank by order with a range because I don't have a full board laid out.

1. OG Chance Warmack 17-21
2. DT John Jenkins 18-25
3. DT Jesse Williams 20-27
4. FS Kenny Vaccaro 25-32
5. C/G Barrett Jones 40-50

I'd take Warmack all things being equal.

IF however we lose Brent and know Ratliff is too much a head case to remain I'd select Jenkins who is hardly a reach there because of positional mandate.
