Mel Kiper's 1st 2013 Mock--Jan 16
Mike Kiper released his 1st Mock Draft for 2013, giving us some more data to chew on.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft...rst-mock-draft
Here are his top 10, plus pick 18. - Kansas City: Luke Joeckel, OT, TAM
- Jacksonville: Damontre Moore, DE, TAM
- Oakland: Star Lotulelei, OT, Utah
- Philadelphia: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
- Detroit: Jarvis Jones, LB, Georgia
- Cleveland: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida St
- Arizona: Chance Warmack, G, Alabama
- Buffalo: Manti Te'o, LB, Notre Dame
- NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU
- Tennessee: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Dallas: Jonathan Cooper, G, UNC
"Analysis: The Cowboys had an uneven season on the offensive line, and Cooper will provide an upgrade immediately. This is a complete guard, a player who is exceptional at delivering blocks and moving in tight quarters, and he moves extremely well for the position. He can deliver an initial blow to eliminate an interior defender and then move easily to the second level where he can line up linebackers and safeties and block in space. "
See the link above for Kper's complete Mock with analysis.
Go Cowboys

I like Warmack a little more but would be absolutely fine with adding Cooper to this oline.

At this early stage, I do too. But Warmack was way out of reach at pick 7. I wonder if that would be the highest a Guard has ever been picked? Probably not, but it's very early.
Maybe the most interesting thing about this mock is that not a single QB was taken in round 1.
My guess is that will not be the case, and he knows it....just a Mock 1.0. I do think those guys at CBS putting a QB at #1 overall are crazy though. KC could quite possibly wait an entiore round and get a decent QB at the top of round 2 with reaching about 20 picks to get one with the 1st overall.

Yeah, it's early for a guard in top ten.
People said DeCastro may not make it to our selection last year too, you just never know.

That would be Menelik Watson.
First time I've seen him up this far.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

this is what i also found most interesting
you know that at least 1 QB will be taken in the top 10 and i would be another before us just because teams that need QBs become desperate and start to out think themselves
it is therefore very possible that eiter Warmack or one of the DTs drops or that we could trade down and still pick up an OG/C or DT in the mid 20s

I agree, but it's still early. Some team will get desperate and make a "Gabbert" like decision. But pundits who are claiming Geno Smith #1 are just crazy.
