Default Stan "The Man" Musial passes away at 92...

Truly an all-time great. A legend.

Terrific high average hitter with power.

And he never struck out more than 46 times in a season. A remarkable achievement.

One of the all-time great players and even a better person.

Really sad.

Stan the Man wasnt just a great ballplayer, but a great person.

Nobody loved more by Cards fans than Stan.

R.I.P. to arguably a top 5 unappreciated players of any era.

Married 72 years to the same lady, Lillian, who passed in May of last year, says so much more than his "professional" career ever could IMO.

My favorite quotes about "The man"...

Leo Durocher, who faced Musial as a player and manager, once said "the only way to pitch to him was under the plate."

Musial's signature feature was a distinct batting stance that Chicago White Sox pitcher Ted Lyons once said made him look like "a kid peeking around the corner to see if the cops are coming."

Former St. Louis Manager Whitey Herzog had told Musial, "I tried to have your stance and I was in the minors for eight years."

And you could put him most anywhere on the field and he'd excel. One of my favorite all time players. RIP Stan. The Big Club just got better.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.
