Default Garrett gets puppetized

Today marks officially the day Garrett became JJ's latest puppet. most of us knew it was coming so it begins today.

Hopefully the players dont bail on Garrett this upcoming season.

It's a shame, really.

I think its clear now Jerry is making every possible move this off-season. In all of my years of following the off-season, I have never seen a GM/Owner undermine the HC on this level before. Its almost ridiculous Jerry would do this then send Jason out there each Sunday and expect the team to 'buy in' to his program. He would do Jason a huge favor if he just fired him and let Jason rebuild his credibility somewhere else.

I wonder if Jerry is trying to make Jason angry enough to break his contract.
It's a new season, let's go!

You either let Garrett have the final say, and his own staff, or you fire him. He can't put his stamp on a team he has no power over.

I see where you are coming from. But I just don't see an easy environment to coach in Dallas. That's why I *have given* Garrett the benefit of the doubt.

Saw this on twitter...

Ian Fitzsimmons ‏@Ianfitzespn
I have been all for Red J turning over play calling duties. But it had to be HIS decision not having Jerry demote him. He is a powerless HC.

and it seems to reflect the overall sentiment of this thread. The question I have is how else was Jason going to give up playcalling without Jerry forcing the issue?

I would think that now that this role has been removed from Jason's duties for the foreseeable future that people would be happy about it. Now it's something else to complain about.

You guys.. *sigh*
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

This is complete bull... While I'm no fan of Jerry Jones the GM. This move had to be made because the offense was horrible.

If Jerry didn't believe in JG's play calling, it's admitting he failed as a playcaller. Since that's the case, why did he hire a failed OC?

Puppet

Stawman

I don't care what Garrett is as long as the Cowboys win.

Wasn't it Jerry that said he didn't want a walk around coach, that the head coach should call the plays?

I don't think the players will look at him as a puppet. The way they played at this season with all the injuries, showed me something. JG has this team headed in the right direction, just hope the baffoon doesn't ruin it.
