Default What are we getting at 18

Offense

QB at 18 I think we could have the best one available (important for trade value as this is where they will start drawing attention, the combine may mess this up for us)
WR at 18 I think we could have the third best Lee and Patterson gone
RB at 18 I think we could have the best one available
TE at 18 I think we could have the best one available
FB at 18 I think we could have the best one available
Center at 18 I think we could have the best one available
Guard at 18 I think we could have the second best available Warmack goes just before us
Tackle at 18 I think we could have the third best choice Joeckle and Fisher gone and possibly not in that order, Lane Johnson will be on deck for us

Defense

Safety at 18 I think we could have the best one available (Vaccaro debatable but with current data-set this is realistic)
CB at 18 I think we could have the third best Millner and Banks/Williams/Rhodes gone do not have good feel for CB talent at this time
LB at 18 I think we could have the third best Jarvis and Te'o probably gone I am on the tipping point with Pitt picking ahead of us
DE at 18 we could have the third best best with Werner and Moore gone and Dion Jordan sliding down
DT at 18 we could have the second best 3 technique Star L gone, and we could say the same for the 1 tech with Star gone.

Where do you differ from what I see? I know only 12 players gone who makes up the additional 5 players before us? CB? QB is likely? Guard, Cooper? DT not sure who? TE?
Anyone care to do a round two?

More and more I'm hoping for Johnson. But I'm almost sure they'll go DL.

I agree completely they really have us fooled if they took Lane Johnson(may eventually be the best of the bunch at OT)

I think you can count Barkevious Mingo as gone too...though there have been rumblings.
And yes, a QB (probably Geno Smith) will go before us rather he deserves it or not.
Probably one WR--Patterson?--will be gone.
Probably Vaccaro or Cooper

That gets you thru 17.

That still leave
Richardson
Jordan
Floyd
Lane
Ansah
Hankins
Vaccaro or Cooper
Eifert
etc

Trade down.

Book it.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

If there's no impact player or instant starter there then that's my guess. Trade down and pick up a 3 or 4.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

I think he will be available at 18(just barely) and love his versatility and talent level. I thought this would be easy when I started and the last five players are difficult to envision. I concede the QB will make a huge difference after the combine.

My man!!! Not many people around here on the Floyd wagon.

I think he is and should be our #1 target. I don't think he lasts until 18 though. I think he's the 2nd DT off the board.

Count me as one on the Sherrif Floyd Bandwagon. I've been talking about him for a while now. He is fast, has the intagibles you want, is aggressive and has great versatility. He played at DE in 2011 and DT in 2012. Very quick and goes full speed all the time.

Could play the 3 tech, 1 tech or even SDE on some downs ala red Bryant with Seattle. Kiffin and Marinelli could do a lot with him.

He just might make it to 18 and if he does, I hope we jump on him.

For the 3 technique which is what we need for the dline I have him a tier lower than Sheldon Richardson/Star L, but his overall value is greater across the line. Not waffling but Richardson is a buzzsaw and unlike anything we have currently on the team. I do not like his off field side but this may be the year that Jason has to decide what is more important my philosophy or my hc job.

I'm big on any of these guys at 18:

DL Sheldon Richardson
DL Sharrif Floyd
OG Jonathan Cooper
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

I've seen several mock drafts that have Vaccaro in the top 10 (occasionally top 5). Not that I agree with these drafts, but I do think this guy's stock will rise quite a bit before the draft and we won't have a chance to grab him.

My fear is if Geno Smith starts to fall, Jerry starts to call.

In some people's minds, Geno will have to RISE to get to 18.
I think you can rest easy.
